Was Bena vinyl sold by 10c?

if so, then why so many being sold? everything tenclub usually sells comes with the "not for resale" tag. why is this allowed to be marketed all over the place for so much? especially something like this that can be so easily traced since they are numbered.....
i always thought if i bought a poster from the site and sold it, somehow they would trace it back to me and id be banned (all of my posters are framed and hanging up). i just dont see, why they are allowing this for BH?

There are probably some sellers who don't care if they lose their membership and others who probably don't think that the 10C will track the secondary sale.
And there are probably some copies for sale that were "inherited" or passed along or otherwise no longer in the possession of the original buyer.
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

It was available to purchase for at least 12 hours. No limited edition vinyl would last that long on the site these days.
well, it was a midnight seattle time main event! i was pretty suprised though that it was up that long. only 2000 copies printed.
on the other hand, ebay was just 4 years old that time. so the non pj fans, the ones who just wanted to buy stuff and sell so high on the bay didn't take notice of this stuff.
You are well organized my man.
Or just smart enough to access his order history on the tenclub site and take a screengrab of it.

I'm pretty sure I didn't get it right away, either. Whoever said they wouldn't last that long today is cetainly right on the money. How long did it take ITW to sell out?
I actually meant being by the comp at 4:00 am pulling the trigger on the release...pretty sure that was well before we all whipped ourselves into such frenzies around here clicking and refreshing
Too bad this site doesn't have an archive. I'd love to find the original thread about the release of this.
I bought a copy...on CD and its on its way to me now from 10C. so tell me why is it so great? ARe the Benny sealed records just rare.... so thats why people are so proud to have it....or is it a musical masterpiece my ears have not heard yet? Inform me...because I dont know.
I dont understand the whole record thing....i dont ever see getting into it either I like new tech rather than old tech.....but i would love to know why this piece is so important to many collectors...its it the low number of them making its cost soar that people get all revved about or is it the music on it and having it in limited quanity?
I really hope its the music.....even though many will take that angle to not look greedy or capitalistic....is that even a word?..lol
lets hear it.

shit!!! my sealy matress tag was bothering the hell out of me last night. i can't find the tag anywhere's. d'oh!
(Shawn Smith's official website, but not Thee Shawn Smith)
I was in China and up in the middle of the night
then the servers crashed took awhile to get it to go through
I don't recall the "not for resale" restriction either
I think that only applies to posters.
and revoke memberships for failure to comply with the house rules
great post....
Honestly peeps, this is still America.
I don't understand why some get so bent on the resale issue anyway.
It's not like the Beny was sold here recently.
There's no way 10c can determine what you are selling came from them anyway. Once any of these items hit the secondary market it's all fair game.

I so remember that, the sale started late at night I think, I didnt get mine until like 5am, my son was 9 days old by then and I think I bought it when I woke up for one of his feedings... SOOOOO glad I decided to do buy it then
Benaroya was available for hours... it wasn't hard to get at all, the LP went on sale something like at midnight can't remember what coast time and I didnt get mine until 5 or 6 hours later, Benaroya was still available the next morning there was no crashing servers or anything like that when I tried at 5am EST...
the vinyl went on sale at 12am Pacific. purchased mine from the 10C at 4pm Eastern the day of the sale, 13 hours after the vinyl became available for sale and 15 minutes before the vinyl was out of stock

Well, here's my take on it....
Hundreds of thousands of people are PJ fans....out of those, prolly 30 thousand (just a guess) are real friggin die-hard fans... and out of those, prolly 15 thousand (just another guess) are super collectors.
Only 2000 Bennies made.
Some casual PJ fans managed to land a Beny and have come to realize it's worth 20 times or more what they gave for it... so they sell it...
Then there's the vinyl lovers. Vinyl lovers are more than just PJ fans, vinyl lovers collect rare records, so that makes Beny even more attractive to another group of peeps.
Yes, the LP sound IS better than the CD. Especially through headphones. There is no comparison.... the CD is weaksause.... the LP is phenomenal
Im thinking its a "I have it and you dont" its so rare thing.....that makes me a bigger fan then you thing......nobody seems to talk to the music on it much.
I guess my copy of Benny coming isnt special because its just merely a CD....Am I gonna feel that this is some of the best from PJ.......or its just pretty good....but if it was a CD that only 2000 were made...that makes it great?

No
The actual release is an all acoustic set. Very very very good stuff. You won't be disappointed at all if you are a PJ fan. The music is good whether it's on MP3, CD or Vinyl. It's a must have IMO in any format you can get.
I don't think having the Beny vinyl would make any fan an elitist. Most fans wish they would press a 2nd vinyl release. I know I would and I have the original, but I'd like to have another copy because I listen to it frequently. I don't want it to get scratchy so I clean it after every listen.
It's hard to understand if you're not familiar with listening to records....
It's a vinyl thang:)

It could be Pearl Jam's best recording ever IMO!
PJ has renewed so many things for me..........I have been waiting to hear this and checking the mail daily.....I hear many talk to the greatness of the Benny LP so...I wanted to know what makes the big deal the music or rareity of the LP. Im glad its the music......because the LP has zero value to me as I will never buy a turn table.....but Im happy for those who do enjoy it!

don't forget those of us fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to experience PJ live at Benaroya Hall,...then again, it could be argued that if one was lucky enough to see PJ live at Benaroya Hall does one really deserve the Benaroya vinyl as well?!

Perhaps you may understand the comparisons if you have predominately listened to something on MP3 format and then when you hear it on CD for the first time you are like... "wow, this sounds much better on CD than my iPod"
The same can be said with traditional vinyl when played on a quality turntable vs CD. Traditional vinyl is analog recorded (usually studio 16 track magnetic tape). If vinyl is advertised as digitally remastered then it's pretty much gonna sound the same as a CD.
Digital recordings are crystal clear recordings, there's no surface rubbing against a needle or tape head to cause hiss, roar, or cracking. However the digital recording format causes loss on the highest and lowest ends.
Vinyl captures the original recording as close as you can get next to hearing it live. It is important to keep the vinyl clean and properly stored so you don't get a bunch of crackling and hiss as your record collection gets older and played more.
Man you are gonna enjoy it...
Don't get hung up on the vinyl.
I only listen to vinyl about once a week. I just don't have the time. I mean it's a great hobby to have it's just something to look forward to whereas I'm gonna be listening to my iPod or car stereo daily because I love music.
show-off!!!
