Eddie's sudden exit stage right during Crazy Mary Gorge 2005

At the Gorge show in 2005 during the song Crazy Mary, Eddie ran to the back of the stage in a hurry and a bunch of people ran after him looking nervous. If you watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHkkdroU ... vie_player at 4:24 you see Eddie exiting stage right fast. I was there and remembered being worried that he was hurt or something. Then he came back looking disoriented and holding a towel. They continued on of course to perform one of the best shows ever but I always wondered what the hell happened during all that. Any ideas or did anyone else remember this???

He was informed I was waiting backstage for his autograph.

I just watched the "sudden exit" on the video. It's Boom's solo and you can see him get the mic cord tangled up on the mic stand which he then throws to the stage guy. Then look in the upper right hand corner and you can see him talking to the same guy and another stage guy back behind Boom. You can recognize him because of the light blue shirt he's wearing. Looks to me like he probably lit up a cigarette and wanted a clean towel and walked back on stage. I don't see anything out of the ordinary from what I've seen him do any other time during a long solo by somebody else. Just my 2 cents. ;)

maybe he wet himself.. hence the towel.

doesn't look too alarming to me, but then, i'm just a simple paper boy
  • Towards the end of the song it looks like he was checking his arm to see if it was bleeding. I think he just cut himself...

I think you are looking into things too much. He went to talk to the stage crew, he does this all the time.
His eminence has yet to show.

  • I think he had a bee sting. They checked on his arm after the first one or two songs, and after that he seemed fine. I believe there's a picture of his swollen arm in one of the newsletters.
  • Funny, I was row 5 at that show and none of this even registered at the time. It's pretty obvious that something was going on with his arm. Bee sting sounds possible. Whatever it was, it worked because that was one incredible show.

Yeah, I too was there and do not recall anything urgent happening.

That said, WOW watching that sure brings back that special special night at The Gorge. What an incredible show that was!!!
