Just saw AFI in Clifton Park (Albany area) in a small venue called Northern Lights. Enjoyable show. Davey Havok's pretty good at being glam and punk simultaneously and the band is tight - they've been around almost as long as Pearl Jam and it shows in their playing. The new album is Crash Love and there's some good tunes on it. Anyone else catching any shows? We're going again in NYC at the Roseland in November

  • Fell out of love with afi. Sing the Sorrow was the last album i liked from them, not into their new sound (Also I had no idea how gay the singer looked back in the day before they made music videos ;) Do they play alot of their old albums live like very proud of ya?

Whether someone looks gay is kind of irrelevant to me (Davey's working the Moz look a little now), but in any case, they are mostly playing material from Sing the Sorrow on, but we did get Nyquil and Ever and a Day, and much of Crash Love since the new tour is to support the new album.

    Here's the setlist:
    Torch Song
    Girl's Not Grey
    The Leaving Song Pt. II
    Too Shy To Scream
    Ever And A Day
    Kill Caustic
    End Transmission
    Nyquil
    Beautiful Thieves
    Dancing Through Sunday
    The Leaving Song
    On The Arrow !!!
    Death of Seasons
    Medicate
    Love Like Winter
    The Interview
    Miss Murder
    Silver and Cold

^^^^ Yeah, they've been doling a few older ones out. 6 to 8 was played in Minneapolis I heard, and back in the summer I saw them at the Edgefest in Toronto and they included A Single Second, Love is a Many Splendored Thing and Totalimmortal... I'd like to hear Malleus but some of the older stuff is harder on his voice I think. Jade's doing a little more shredding which I kind of like.
