Is it only republicans and racists who hate obama?

I am piggy backing off a thread I started awhile back, this idea that there seems to be alot of focus on anti Obama sentiment lately. We all know about the right wingers at the Town hall meetings and the "you lie" statement, and republicans who feel obama is a racist and an antichrist but do you also think Obama really is unpopular with a large segment of people, a broad spectrum of people.
You've got obama fighting 2 wars that are more unpopular than Vietnam ever was. These are Obama's wars. So his continued prowar stance and his evident effort to ramp up and escalate the wars seems likely to piss of a HUGE amount of people. As I have pointed out before, when mainstream and centralist publications like Newsweek start suggesting that we need to pull out of Afghanistan, I think its safe to say that the country by and large feels this way as well.
Second-Obama, has done jack squat to alleviate the economic crisis and help out regular people who are losing their farms and homes and livelihoods. We are experiencing the worst economy since the Great Depression, how will Obama's tenure as leader of the free world be written about in history? Somehow I dont think he will be considered the next FDR.
Third, the health care crisis. Seems to me the majority of americans want single payer health care. What has obama done to seriously engage in these issues?
Fourth-his effort to expand the war on terror. I have heard talk about Iran, Korea and elsewhere. Where does he think he is going to get the troops to support such folly? Who does he think is going to fund it? How is dropping bombs on some mother and her 2 children in Pakistan really going to end terrorism?
So, the question remains. Who really is pissed off at obama right now? Is it only the republicans and racists, who never liked him in the first place? Or is the anti Obama coatltion actually much much larger?
What happens as the economy gets worse and worse, and more people are fired and laid off? What happens as the wars continue to worsen and more and more families lose their sons and daughters in Iraq or Afghanistan? What happens when people stop asking for help, and start demanding it?

in the past its been as low as 60%. and that vote was basically split between democrats and republicans....so that leaves a very large portion of the country not leaning toward either party. i thought a while back that that percentage represented the portion of america that actually gave a shit about things, that didn't want war and poverty and misery. i still think that. and obama hasn't done anything to affect any of those things. he's increased the troop number in afghanistan, so i guess he's making a shitty war worse...but for the things that matter to most people....i think most americans oppose obama when you get down to it.
the right wingers have a large corporate media outlet to voice their opinions...but i think the majority oppose Obama for practical reasons, not so much political.
I think you're way off on that one. I'm pretty sure that percentage mostly represents the portion of america that doesn't give a shit about voting or government or social issues or politics or anything other than the next episode of dancing with the stars. they're by and large the brain dead portion of the country that we're better off not having vote.
I didn't vote for Obama but I do like him even though I disagree with many, many of the things he has done so far. It hasn't even been a year as yet in his administration and many of the difficulties he's facing he inherited from the previous debacle of an administration.
Time will tell where or what direction this administration will drive this country and I have a tiny feeling he can get this job done for the betterment of this country.

The one of the back had "Dead Man" written on it. It was probably just kids but they got this hate from somewhere. I read that the Secret Service has said threats against Obama are 4 times the amount Bush ever received.
The republican party really has to take a good look at itself. The rational people of the party have let the uneducated loons take over. I really wish more would speak out. I don't think it is a coincidence most of the leaders in Washington opposing Obama on everything he tries to do are from states with predominately racist white people. Specifically, the South.
While what those kids or whoever did that to your sticker, was wrong to do it, did you read my original post at all?
My point which I laid out there, is that yes, obama has and has always had racists who hate him merely for his skin color, and republicans who hate him because he is a democrat. thats a given. We know that. Its obvious. Its as plain as the nose on my face.
What I am pointing out, is that I believe Obama is hated by a large group of people, and that racists and conservatives make up only a part of this group.
I told you of my own hatred of him, and I am neither a republican nor a racist. I hate him because he is a liar, corrupt and is sending young kids to die in iraq just like the other guy who held the office the last 8 years.
Talking about the Oreilly's and Hannitys and limbaughs and Becks of the world bores me. Were they ever going to like Obama?
What interests me is as I said, when mainstream and centrist rags like Newsweek come out and demand the war in Afghanistan end and that troops be pulled out. What interests me is when, I visit left wing websites, and their gaga for obama feelings are gone, and they are angry at him for his lack of action on a number of issues.
I have never voted for or supported a politician who is a democrat, merely because he is a democrat. Yet that seems the MO of the entire mainstream democrat party system currently.
I am so sick of this, "if only we had a democrat in office things would be better" crap. Obamas been in office and dems have had power since 2006. Yet, the wars still rage. Nothings being done to help those in need, of either health care or of financial and housing help. And the environment is still being murdered. What was the last thing obama or any democrat did to seriously combat that issue?
back in the late 80s when my close friends were all dropping dead (and I'm talking about otherwise healthy men in their early 20s) from AIDS, the president's reaction was "oh well."
Hearing the president say "gay" without bile and spit in his voice is something I haven't heard.... before.
Is it the presidents responsibility to protect people from aids, especially as most cases were a result of high risk behavior. That is such a lame comment.
And you have a lame view on the spread of AIDS.
http://www.avert.org/aids-history-86.htm
As early as 1982 it was becoming aware that people who had blood transfusions were contracting AIDS. I didn't know having blood administered by a doctor was a high risk behavior.
As they still are today. The truth is that aids was most definitely a well known problem in the late 1980's in the United States. People still had unprotected sex and shared needles desite knowing the concequences. Blood tranfusions were least likely to spread the virus. I have been tested myself for HIV. I am not knocking anyone for what they do but I won't blame anybody if I contract it, unless, by a long shot, it was from a blood transfusion.
Many people on this board use that crutch.
