Just watched an Episode of Clarissa Explains it All....

Browsing youtube, I came across an episode from 1993 or 94 and it had all of the commercials included.
Some things to take away:
1) Shows from the 90's didn't talk down to kids, you may have not always gotten the joke, but it came across as real dialogue.
2)Clarissa says, "I predict by the year 2000, with virtual reality classrooms, there won't be a need to go to school." Now there's online classes...coincidence? or did Clarissa explain it all?
3)A friend dropped off some belongings to Clarissa and said something along the lines of, "Here's your notebook, the new Nirvana tape, and your calculator." It was so refreshing to hear Nirvana regaurded as just another band rather than carrying the heavy conventional connotation that they are rock icons, saviors, or martyrs to music.
4) You would think that you would forget commercials from 15 years ago, but apart from the local ones, I remembered everyone of them.
5) I miss the 90's

Remember when Clarissa got backstage passes to pearl jam?
Loved that show, it wasn't terrible!
but yes i agree, the nick shows i grew up with were awesome, they had real problems and realistic lives unlike that 15 year old chick who's the vice president of a fashion company. wtf?! whatever. i'm happy i had a great childhood even though this new generation of kids don't

oh my god. Pete and Pete may have been the best show ever on television, at least that's how I remember it. Smart comedy for kids. I was in high school when that show was on and I still loved it. I've watched a few of the kids shows that are popular these days and they can't even hold a candle to some of those Nick shows from the 80s and 90s.
Ooh, most episodes of Pete are on Veoh. I always enjoyed the alternative music artists who had little roles.
Salute Your Shorts: I wear the Camp Anawanna shirt I bought on Retroduck.com at least twice a week! ...And I've been doing so for 2 and a half years.

Seriously.
