The special will feature new music from the new “Back Spacer” album, some of the iconic songs from the band and three live songs taken from their recent concert in Hartford, CT.

Yeah, but it's too bad they haven't been playing the new album. The Fixer is pretty much out of rotation..

I did however hear Amongst the Waves on XRT this morning.

No kidding. It's just like Q101 to do this: drop the single like a bad habit less than a week after the album's release (while said album is selling like hotcakes), then use the band's Q rating for the station's benefit (no pun intended 8-) ).

It is a plus that their causes are getting some good publicity.

It's at 8:00 pm, by the way.

Too each their own, but I can't stand Q101.. they play the same 40 songs from 1994 all the time and have a shitty new music selection.. they're really just a 90s alternative music station. It gets old.

Q101 was the station that pissed EV off in 1995. He may have mentioned or alluded to it at Soldier Field before Not For You. They had put up billboards with his image w/o permission or something. They also put out one of the monkeywrench SF broadcast bootlegs.

Funny thing is when they started around 1990-1992 they were pretty good. They offered A LOT of contests where they'd fly you to concerts all over the world. One that stands out was a giveaway to see the 2-3 U2 ZooTV shows with PJ opening in Italy (1992).
