This thread is to help spread some info that isn't exactly smaking you square in the forehead when you read up on the side effects of whatever prescription drugs you plan on taking. Feel free to comment on the example I give, or contribute some yourselves. We can all be more careful of what we put into our bodies.
My bandmate, like many 20 something men started losing his hair at an undesirable rate, and decided to take some medication to do something about it. He started using a generic form of Propecia, after doing some research on it. As far as he could tell the worse side effect was basically a lack of libido, and potential impotence. He claims he still gets raging boners, so he considered himself unaffected for the last few years. Good for him, right? Anyway, recently, he noticed his vision getting poor in both eyes, worse in his dominant eye. He says he sees, "floaters" constantly, and just generally cannot see as well. He told his girlfriend about it, and she started doing some research online. It turns out that there are quite a few men out there who have this problem, and this drug seems to be the common denominator.
He's been off it a few months now, and notices a slight improvement-- obviously, most intelligent people will choose baldness over a loss of sight-- because after all, if you can't even see your kick ass head of hair, or the people it attracts, what's the point?
