Pearl Jam, Band or a Group

When Ed talks about Pearl Jam he mentions more than most that they are a group instead of a band. To me a group is something that has been put together by suits in a boardroom trying to dominate the world, aka boybands. Has anyone else ever picked up on this?

    no, not really...although Pearl Jam did start out with a tremendous advantage (label connections, a record deal, studio time booked, distribution and a tour all set to go once they found their singer) it is pretty clear they were not put together by 'suits'...unless you consider Jack Irons a corporate rock whore :lol:

    They are clearly more a team than a band or a group.

    Heck -- they named themselves after a basketball player who played on a TEAM.

    There is no "I" in team -- or Dave A. either

    So even though the term "band" is in "boyband", you consider "boybands" to be a "group" and not a "band"?
