PJ Ticket Scam

I know that most of you get your tix through Ten Club but I just wanted to share my recent experiences in the hope it will prevent someone else from being scammed. My wife and I went to LA 3 thinking we could score a couple of last minute tickets. We had been to LA 1 and tickets seemed rather plentiful. LA 3, however, was a different story. Lots of scalpers and very few tix. We ended up waiting in the ticket line only to be three people away from the last ticket dropped at the box office. Bummer. Anyway, I decided that I would buy some tix off Craigslist the following morning for LA 4 and surprise my wife with them. I made sure that they were hard tix (they were even stuck together at the perf) and the guy I bought them from seemed like a genuine fan. We got to the show and when the tickets got scanned, they made a weird noise. We were told there was a problem with the tix and to go back to the box office. Guy at the box office asked if we were the original purchasers of the tix. We said no. He said that the tix were reported lost and that new tix had been issued to the original buyer making these ones void. In fact, the buyer just picked up his re-issued tickets half an hour ago. Needless to say, my wife and I felt sick. I have been sold fake tickets once (many years ago for a Jerry Garcia Band Halloween show) and have had friends scammed with duplicate Ticketfast tix that were apparently printed more then once. But I have never had actual legitimate Ticketmaster hard tickets turn out to be bogus. The guy at the box office said that this was unfortunately becoming a common practice. Please be careful when buying tix that are not Ten Club. For peace of mind, you can call TM and ask them to check the number under the bar code of the ticket to make sure that the ticket was not re-issued or reported lost or stolen. Hope this helps prevent what happened to us from happening to one of you...

  • there was an issue at Seattle II where a couple had bought tickets on Stubhub that either didn't exist or were in the handicapped section. The looks on their faces was awful, I felt so bad for them but a least the venue found a space for them.

Did you file a police report? Perhaps with the posting info a phone number or other info you have they can track down the a-hole.

I had a similar problem regarding some strange smells coming from the air conditioning system of my car a few weeks ago. I first complained to the dealership. Their solution was to execute some ambigous cleanup procedure and spray a freshener which proved only to be a temporary solution. After a few months dealing with the problem with the dealership, they left me with an impression that there was nothing they could do. Which meant I would be would be either sweating to death on a hot summer day by not using the air-conditioner or braving the obnoxious fumes while the Lexus people set in the comfort of the offices breathing fresh air conditioned air. I called the Lexus customer satisfaction line which gave me the run around several times. They insisted that it was a problem with the type of fuel (supposedly high sulfur content) being used on the east coast. As far as they were concerned the car was operating normally and that there was nothing to be done. The only thing they suggested I do was to find a better type of fuel and run a few tankfuls through the car. The conversation with Lexus left me puzzled. I was breathing car exhaust fumes throught the ventilation system and that was considered normal. I explained that the problem was only when it was damp outside or when I use the air-conditioner. Lexus (customer service) was hearing me but they were not listening to what I was saying. After a few more phones calls to Lexus and drilling my experiences with the car into their heads was when they understood what I was saying. My situation was now referred back to the dealership where they replaced the air conditioning filter, assuring me that the action be the final solution to the problem. Well, it was'nt. Now it's back to dealing with the Lexus service manager and if necessary Lexus Customer Satisfaction. If they do not come up with more concrete measures, then I will have little choice but to start the arbitration process.

that happened to a friend of mine once it was going to be her first time seeing PJ too. Luckily for her I buy my TC tix in pairs so I can always go with someone. As a matter of fact the only time I've seen them by my self was Bonnaroo last year. But hey sometimes fans really do sell you valid tix. I one time was given tix, ( me and a little girl who was in tears over not getting to go), the guy's GF was sick and MADE him give away her tix to true fans. I have yet to be able to repay that karma. I always look for opportunities to give a way a ticket to a fan who truely needs to go. One day..... I'll get to. Though I'll never foget that couple that gave me my ticket in my desperate need to see my favorite band live, I will someday when things look up be able to give someone that chnace to go when they need to most. And I promise when that day comes I'll post it here.

stubhub/ticketsnow, as much as I HATE THEM. they will protect you if you buy from them. totally legit scalpers and they guarantee your service to the point of giving you a 1.800#.... if something should happen at entry time, like what happened to the OP

    Craigslist wont protect you
