Arc - audience involvement idea?
ok, so i rarely start new topics but here's my random idea...possibly thought of while intoxicated, lol.
Do you think Ed could ever lead the audience to sing Arc together? in the sense that, different parts of the crowd/arena could sing different arcs repeatedly. And then Ed would sing over ours in a stadium of voices and harmonies... we are afterall good sing-along-ers...
So, picture how as kids you might have sung 'row row row your boat...'' with your class, where small groups sing staggered and create those cool harmonies or whatever...but instead, we do it with various arc-like vocalizations....maybe 3 or 4 different sections...
Would that be awesome? or totally fail?
lol man, the idea sounded neet originally (see first line) but i could see utter failure too. Clearly it would be difficult and we'd need a few minutes of practice with Ed's help. But let's say it'd be tried a couple times at consecutive shows, i think we'd get the hang of it as an audience and maybe it could be the most awesome thing ever! or it could be a horrible out of tune blob of noise....
thoughts?
a) yes! holy cow that'd be awesome!
b) no! wouldn't work...too many people...auditory debacle!
c) Ed does just fine on his own!
d) Mike it's good you rarely start new topics!

umm, i respectfully disagree with your assessment:)
wow thanks for that, pretty cool...subtle but definitely something there resembling it. can't believe that happend just this summer! i guess we've always had a good amount of chanting anyway...just not always as structured...
Involvement, and the coming together and emotional climax of 15000 people in a reflective/introspective moment is more the theme/goal behind the idea...as this song could possibly facilitate such an experience. For me, it's probably one of the most deep climatic songs/experiences to witness ...up there with release. and what would it be like to share that in a larger room...

Blew me away....
There was not a sound as everyone was totally and completely captivated by it and him.
I will echo an earlier question... do you know the meaning and significance behind this 'song'?
Coincidentally, this will be my 9th Pearl Jam show, on October 9th, 2009....
And the sports shirt will have 9 on the back...
Pretty cool...
