they along with Grizzly Bear seem to be the "next big thing"
certainly one of those bands that challenge and inspire but also infuriate the listener
Merriweather Post Pavillion got something like a 9.6 from Pitchfork, and it came out in January, I can recall multiple critics and sources suggesting this was "the" album of the year...in january...
I like the cool, sunny, breezy melodies they have. Definitely influenced by The Beach Boys thats for sure.
i like them...first fell in love with "feels"..."strawberry jam" took a bit for me to warm up to...but "merriweather" i responded to right away, it helps get me through the day at work...i just hope the customers don't mind! they're not a band that i can listen to all of the time...but sometimes i just NEED to hear "grass"...soooo good
Totally dig Animal Collective. Grizzly Bear is awesome too. These two bands have been responsible for making some of the best music of the second half of this decade.
I’ve seen Pearl Jam 25 times, Eddie Vedder 9 times, and Brad once.
