anyone know what's up with the album they are working on? i know kevin drew posted a blog back in may saying that they were recording/working on a new album in chicago. haven't heard anything since as far as a scheduled release is concerned, or anything more about the album for that matter.
i can't wait for this shit, it's been over 4 years now since the last one. anyone who knows about bss knows that they've released 3 full length studio lp's and they have all been flawless. incredible band, check them out if you haven't heard them. "you forgot it in people" is my favorite album of the decade, and one of the best of all time.

That said... they played a small batch of new songs back in June during a show... but they have given no information on when their next album is going to be released...
They did release 2 albums as "Broken Social Scene Presents..." in the last few years...
ever see them live? it's fucking incredible.
I assume BSS will get something together in early '10. Once his DMST duties are up.
i am now a believer
several times, first time was in 2004 @ Coachella, complete with a band memeber proposal. heard 7/4 Shoreline for the first time ... 115 degrees and it was still one of my favoite 10 song sets ever.

A host of special guest performers and an all-star band led by Broken Social Scene and Joan as Police Woman will celebrate Canadian rock icon Neil Young in a concert for the ages. Visionary music producer Hal Willner presides over the proceedings with his signature off-kilter genius for curating live shows, digging deep into Young's massive catalogue to illuminate hits and obscurities alike with magical pairings of song and singer. Surprises are in store. A certain amount of mayhem is inevitable. Musical nirvana is guaranteed.
Praise for previous Hal Willner events:
