Are celebrities 10 Club members? Do they pay dues?

Like with the noted celebrity fans like Sean Penn, that guy from That 70's show, Phil Jackson, Corin Tucker, the celebs who were at the LA shows these past few days, are they actual dues paying 10 club members? Or do they get comped tickets? Do you think the band calls them up before they play the towns they live in, and they put them on a guest list? That would seem pretty time consuming.

I just cant imagine people like Phil jackson, or Sean Penn or whoever, waiting with baited breath on Ticketmaster or for that matter buying tickets off 10 club.

i cant really see them being in the fan club because the main purpose is better seats...those celebrities do not need 10c to get amazing seats..

that's one of the reasons why they have a Fan Club. i imagine that they do have a guest list & that they provide tickets to those people that way.

on a side note...what ever happened with your job? did you quit to go see PJ? there were a lot of people offering you advice. i'm curious what you ended up doing.

Well yeah, it is a Will Call window after all. Doesn't mean he is in the Ten Club
  • I talked to Danny Masterson at the East Rutherfod NJ show and he is indeed a FC member and he shared his number with me and I seem to remember mine being slightly better. Good dude.

On big tours, bands have someone in-charge of "VIP" ticketing. Celebs usually have their publicists make the arrangments for them.

Pretty sure Phil Jackson is a paying member. he probbaly just payed through 2030 a while ago.

I assume Sean Penn is an honorary "10 C'" member.

  • I used to work for a A-list talent management company in Hollywood, and would from time to time arrange for our clients to get tickets to various events. These tickets are definitely comped.

  • I've never seen a celeb at a PJ show, which tells you where my seats usually are.
  • I interned for a few record companies in college - in the radio promotions, retail promotions and publicity departments. As a lowly intern one of my jobs was usually working the lists for shows - I was in NYC. In my experience celebs do not pay for their tickets and their publicist usually just makes a call if they want to go to a show. The bands have a set number of comps and the record company usually has comps, too. This way if the band runs out of comps but a celeb/vip calls wanting to go to a show, you can usually still accommodate them.

My favorite list slaving moment (it was a thankless, stressful, 'I'll have you fired if you don't find me on there' task) was checking Tim Robbins into a Fishbone show at the Marquee. He was really low key and was actually surprised I recognized him. It was 1992ish and he kind of stands out being so tall so by the time he made his way to the VIP cutoff area I just waved him in without asking for ID. He brought me a drink a few minutes later. Class act.
    Why go home?
