I think it might be safe to say the LAX shows were the fucking best series of shows EVER! 60some songs played, rarities, grunge reunion...

there doesn't have to be a best ever.

I don't think that title will last long even if it was bestowed upon LA. Where was No Way, Brother, or Supersonic? Plus the same encore every night? 10C members were only allowed tickets to 1 night, I think the band played with that in mind.

I'm hoping we have 60 some different songs played the first 2 nights in Philly! Hopefully this entire tour is a warm up for Philly. Why else bust out random rarities for one night? I think they are practicing for something special.

Probably 80-90 songs played in the 3 Mansfield 2003 series. I would say that for the most part, the Mansfield set sounded more like a job that had to get done as opposed to having fun. I think the band plays better and appears to be having more fun in 09. As for LA, if you didn't go to LA4, you saw good setlists, short shows, songs being played better than ever before, band really tight, and a couple treats over and above pretty good setlists. LA4 is the standout show. So if you went to 1 show in the LA series but not 4, I don't want to go as far as saying you're feeling a little like a chump for not selecting to go to LA4, but it is pretty clear that LA4 was one of the best ever. I went to LA3. Don't get me wrong, I totally enjoyed it. The Hunger Strike thing was great and I know I witnessed a rare event. As for the songs I like (like everybody goes to the same restaurant and orders different things), I would rate Vancouver and LA4 neck-and-neck. My personal preferences. Again, please, don't take this as my saying anything bad about any of the other LA shows. I think LA4 was really the one when I compare my list of personal likes/dislikes with setlists. For me, LA3 was a totally awesome performance, and a really fun time on a vanilla setlist until encore 2 came around. Vancouver and LA4 were way out there on another plane. I'd re-edit your thread title to "LA4 show" instead of "LA shows".
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river

If it does get better than LA3 & LA4 - this band is even more incredible than I dare believe. Totally mindblowing!
