I'm stoked to be attending the last two shows in Philly, including the Halloween night Spectrum close down Saturday. Yeahhh baby. Saw two in Chicago, and I'm ready for more...especially to hear more backspacer songs.

So here's my last two shows in Philly request: Hard Sun. Anybody else in love with this song? I know it's not a Pearl Jam song, it's not even an Eddie Vedder song, but man, Eddie brought it storming to life on the Into the Wild soundtrack. I would really love to hear this song live. IT JUST MAKES ME FEEL SO GOOD.

Eddie played that song at EVERY solo show. I'd rather hear PJ.

Hard Sun would be cool, yes EV did play it solo but that's not PJ.

This song needs a band behind him and he's got the best, so I say break it out 10/27.

He had a band behind him when he played it. He had Liam Finn and company out to play. It was quite nice.

In the end I agree with you, "that's not PJ". EV didn't even write the song, he just sang it. They've played so many rare songs this tour, I'd hate to miss one of them for a non-PJ song.

I really think there's no chance of this song being played at a PJ show, sorry. But I would bet that EV does more solo shows in the future.

Man.... I love this song too but, like others have pointed out, it was played at every EV solo concert. He ended the show with it (in a rather grand fashion).

I'm going to all the Philly shows (only shows this year) and will be expecting NOTHING!!
This way i will be in no way disappointed (not that PJ could ever disappoint!)

So i would get busy with Hard Sun!

YEah, likewise on the "doubtful." What's more, with the stringent NO RECORDING policy at EV Shows and the thought that it's kinda really not his music, it's the movie studio's music -- would prolly complicate bootleg release (like we're hearing that some of the Backspacer free downloads don't have some of the covers on 'em?)

Regardless -- I sure would love to hear the full band rip this one out!

As an aside on that thought -- I'm really thinking PJ's recording policy has changed, all the tickets and venues are saying "No Recording Devices, No Video, No Cameras" -- and I don't think 10C or PJ really wants to come out and tell us. Are threads on audience bootlegs floating around? Seem to recall some MSG audience boot posts were around.... I could be wrong. Not like there's not tons of cameras at the shows....

Yes! I love that song, too! I enjoyed the entire Into the Wild soundtrack. Wish I could have made an EV only show. Just happy to be seeing PJ again, though.

I agree 100% "Hard Sun" with the PJ band backing would be a juggarnaut..

But it appears unlikely..
