when i cant walk into a record store.....IN THE CITY OF CHICAGO????.....

and buy a record ..............

because the store owners are now selling it for $150 ......

then there is something seriously fucking wrong......
Take me piece by piece.....

    oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    yes cos i purchased it for peanuts and can re-sell it for a fortune... that makes me winner of the Tight Arse Scottish Medal for 2008 ;)

    .....keep callin record stores in Chicago, I didnt realize you were in Chicago when we "spoke" yesterday, same as me.....me and my husband both put one on hold yesterday...thats 2!

    I just pray this doesn't happen with the stores that claimed to be ordering one for me!

    This town is so small though....there's only one other big PJ fan (that I know of) that might be out scouting for one like me...

    I'd say it's an update.

    See....yesterday we knew the record store owner said he couldn't get them and blamed Pearl Jam and the 10C.

    Now....apparently....the owners clearly are bold faced liars and are shamelessly hawking the thing for close to 10X purchase price.

    I actually find this update interesting. Capitalism.

    Knew I should have bought an album or two. ;)

    However, not to hijack the thread, but I live in Chicago and have been looking for a good vinyl store because I want to begin collecting. Any suggestions?

    I was able to 'reserve' one in Chicago too, but they could not tell me how much it would cost yet, they took my number and said they will call when it comes in.

    i like reckless records... they have 3 location i think in the city... one on uhh i think monroe... or madison... and i dont know where the other 2 are... actually... just check their website... http://www.reckless.com

    Well, I'm pretty angry.

    The same thing happened to me. Despite the fact that I was STANDING THERE when he ordered it for me last Tuesday and despite the fact that he said "It'll be here for you next week."

    Somehow, now that the store found out people are selling it for $150 online they no longer have mine. ARGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

    Me too and mine just came today. Anyone recommend somewhere to get a cheap record player or a certain one to get. We used to have one but i guess my dad threw it out.....
