Ever since my first Pearl Jam show, in Brisbane in 1998, i've wanted to hear something historic, something everyone will always talk about for the remainder of Pearl Jam's existence, and beyond.

Before last night, i had seen them 6 times. While i loved all 6 shows, and will continue to love every PJ show i go to, no-one ever talked about my shows. They ranged from 'average' in a lot of people's eyes, to 'good'.

I always wanted to get the rarest of the rare songs, for 11 years. I dreamed about getting something that (And yes, i am being selfish here, and i'm allowed to be  ) would make thousands upon thousands of people jealous, for many years to come.

I got that last night. I'm not sure if any Pearl Jam show i see from tonight/friday going forward will top last night, and i really don't care now. I now have the feeling i've seen so many of you have in the past 11 years.
And to know that only 6,000 people will have that moment to cherish, makes it even more special.

And if i could wish 1 thing, any 1 thing for ANY and ALL Pearl Jam fans.... it's that i wish they could've heard that crowd when Eddie said 'Chris Cornell'. I've never heard that at any other rock concert, or sporting event, and will probably never hear it again. Thank you Los Angeles, Chris Cornell and Pearl Jam for making it all come together, on October 6th 2009.

I guess I've never been to one of these shows, but I've been to a few of them where the people that I went with, really made a difference and the memories with those particular people is what really will stick in my mind for many years to come. That's how I usually rank my shows actually- not by the band's performance- because they're always on- but by the experiences and memories that I' was lucky enough to share with others.

    My top five:

    1. Bonnaroo 08
    2. Kissimmee, FL 04
    3. Ft. Lauderdale, FL 96
    4. Atlanta, GA 03
    5. Atlanta, GA 09 (Ed shows)

Right now, 6000 of us are the luckiest and most grateful pearl jam fans on the planet. I'm still getting shivers thinking about it. Wow!

  • I know what you're saying about the place going crazy when Eddie announced Cornell. I felt the same way in Toledo in 2004 when Eddie introduced Neil Young. I told my friends it was like going to Church with the Pope and then Jesus spontaneously showing up.

By the way, I went to a Catholic school at the time if that makes anymore sense. I'm not Catholic, though. So don't judge me.

Buddy I was going to say the same thing, we got to witness two of the rarest nights in a row. Chris Cornell 1st night, and the great rare set list of tonight. Wonderful. Great meeting you and all the other people from the board.

Perfect description, makes me reallyreallyreally jealous! Glad for all of you who were able to experience it, though. I saw CC do Hunger Strike back in June, but I guess it ain't the same without the rest of the guys.
