anyone heard the new album?? i got it late last night. i liked it for the most part. the awesome guitars are still in place, but for me something was missing. i think you in reverse was better. imo.

    Just heard the once through today & had exactly the same opinion. Seemed a bit bland overall in comparison to YIR. Still sounded like there was some good stuff in there though, enough to warrant a decent listen.

    I downloaded it from itunes last night and did not have a chance to listen until this morning. I've only made it through the first 4 songs.

    They seem okay. Seems a bit mellow and not as upbeat so far. It sounds good, but not too rockin.

    I obviously need to hear the whole thing a couple times before forming opinions.

    Generally built to spill does not make "bad" albums sometimes just "less awesome" albums that is why they rock! ;)

    it's a tough album to get hold of around here, they're one band i'd really like to have the real cd as opposed to a download. so i haven't heard it yet, but i'm excited. YIR was great, a huge step up from ancient melodies. but i doubt they're ever going to top perfect and keep it... but who could?

    their show at the metro in chicago a few years back was mind-blowingly good.
