Day Of Show Rituals

Hey all,

I'm sitting at work, barely able to contain myself as I wait for tonight's show. I found it hard to sleep last night, as it I were 8 and it was Christmas Eve. When I woke up to get ready for work, I went to my album collection and put on Yield. Not sure why I chose that album, but that's what I put on. Then listened to Backspacer on my drive in. Now I'm sitting at my desk, listening to the bootleg from the last show I attended, Night 1 of the Forum in 2006, which is my all time favorite PJ show. I imagine I will rinse and repeat this process tomorrow before night 4!
Just wondering if anyone else has a day of the show ritual they go through leading up to the evening's concert.

    I don't know about a ritual, but I can tell you that I am usually totally unproductive at work. I was so unproductive last Thursday, I got stuck being ultra productive on Friday....the day after the show.

    So, my new day of show ritual is to be super productive in the morning so I can then spend the afternoon screwing around and replying to day of show ritual posts on the message board.

    I usually play all of their studio albums in order the day before/of the first show I attend during a tour.

    For the next 2 days, my ritual will be zipping thru tax returns, then leaving at 7pm, and hoping my boss does hassle me.

    Since they never play in my home town, I always take the day of the show off and travel to the city they are playing in...I get there early and try to take in a little of the local culture (food, site seeing, bars, etc...) prior to hitting the show. I also seem to have a ritual of bringing a Pearl Jam Concert first timer to each show; all of them have become Ten Club members since!!!

    i was going to night 4 but i had to sell my tickets (don't worry, i sold them for less than face for all you crazies out there).

    i have an estate planning test coming up that i need to study for and i thought i'd be done with it by now. unfortunately, my slacking has cost me seeing a pearl jam show :x

    Yeah that sounds about right.

    Fly to the city, usually southwest, check into hotel and then head out to eat / drink locally. Then hit up the show, wait in line for poster / beer.. Get face melted off. ;)

    First time in Philly this Oct. There for 5 days! Should be sweet

    Usually - drive as quickly as possible to get wherever it is in time for the show after teaching my class basically. It'll be pushing it for Philly - can't leave before 9:10am or so. Probably food in the car and maximum 2 bathroom stops (400+ miles) on the way.

    I don't drink a lot of fluid so I don't have to pee during the set ;)

    I'm going to enact a new day of show ritual tomorrow by dropping my g/f off at work and then surfing for about 4 hours, followed by a nap and then showtime!

    you made the right choice, man. don't worry about it!!

    the only ritual that i have is that i start listening to all of their studio albums in order about a week before the show. when i drive, run or just relaxing at home. it was cool to find out that my wife was doing the same thing even though she had no idea that i did that!
