So, the more I listen to this song, the more I think it sounds like a Who song.
I feel like I can hear Daltrey screaming the chorus. I know it might be an interesting perspective, but I don't think it's too odd. Considering Ed, and maybe more of the band are big Who fans. Plus, if you listen to the the sound of the song, if it was played by The Who, it could pass off as an original.

Huh, I haven't listened to much Cheap Trick so I didn't think about that. Nice catch though, that's cool!
Saw Cheap Trick open for Aerosmith though, haha. Awesome show!
