I saw the show last night. He played his solo album, as well as a few new songs. The lights were amazing, as was the entire band. It was nice to see Flea show his true talents away from his stale RHCPs! Joey Waronker played a drum set with 2 kick drums, so that was very cool!

The crowd sat for the first few songs, but after Thom mention that his album was meant to be dance music, everyone stood for the rest of the show.

No merch, except for a 12" vinyl.

Are the songs played in the same style as they appear on Eraser, or is it very different. Cool show you got to see!

The Eraser songs are much more energetic live. "The Clock," "Harrowdown Hill," and "Cymbal Rush" were particularly amazing. The new stuff sounds great as well, Thom's piano songs ("Open the Floodgates," "Skirting on the Surface," "Super Collider") have an After the Gold Rush feel to them, "Lotus Flower" is a beautiful song with a seductive guitar melody, and "Judge, Jury & Executioner" sounds like an awesome mix of "There There" and something like "Airbag" or the live version of "Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box".

Thom and Flea had a great chemistry, and Joey Waronker and Mauro Refosco were excellent with drums and percussion. Nigel Godrich handled all the weird sound effects that makes Thom's music unique.

Check out YouTube videos of "Feeling Pulled Apart by Horses" - that song is THE JAM live.
  • I love the idea of Flea playing with Thom Yorke! :D I will have to check out those YouTube clips...

RHCP aren't stale, just 95% of the lyrics. They're still a damn fine rock band.

Surely Thom teaming up with Frusciante can't be far off , I know John is an Radiohead fan from the covers he's done of their work.

Flea does look like he's loving it though, makes a change I guess from the overrated big head Kiedis working with a front man with real talent.

John and Flea really should fuck him right off he really isn't worthy of either of their talents and Stadium Arcadium was utter gash. I would love to see new RH material but if Thom is going to pull off this kind of stuff I'm happy to wait for a while especially if these guys go in the studio Crooked Vultures style.

The new EP was awesome as was gorgeous packaging, I just ordered the new Massive Attack EP as well and that is a real return to form after the solo outing that is 100th Window.
