I love this song and believe it is top 5 of Pearl Jam songs. I really love the studio version but what do you think is the best version out there? I'd have to say MSG 2003. That version is fantastic!

I agree with MSG 2003. It is almost a different song with the chorus and arrangement changes. In fact, I've listened to that version twice in the last three days. I love the way they play it live now but I never liked the studion version at all.

I got to hear it live at Seattle 2 and I definately prefer the Jack Irons style drumming version to the one on MSG in 2003. It has just so much more energy and rockness to it. I'm really glad that Matt Cameron is playing it this way live now. ;)

    Studio.

Sorry to say, whatever happened that day, in the studio, it was magic, never again to happen exactly that way.

I can say that misfit, misstep at Fargo 2003 was the worst.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river
  • Practically any version from 2000.

Forget about the butchered 2003/2006 version.

Agree the studio version is MAGIC.

But live I would have to go with my 1st PJ show 10/2/96--Jack's on drums live a real treat.

I am sure the cassette bootleg I picked up on ebay is floating around in my storage room. TIme to dig.

I love the 03 and 06 versions until the organ solo. that just kills it. i am just not big on organ solos at all.
