I think a pj covers album would be cool, and I actually love the ramones cover album, but I don't hear too many other people saying nice things about it.
those are live covers though, the OP is talking about a disc entirely of studio versions of covers... we could all make our own covers compilation w/ our favorites if we wanted to.

That would be sick!
I like the idea of a covers album (in theory-- in reality, it would mean even longer between studio albums, and the gaps between studio albums are already too long; remember when Jeff said in the mid-'90s that the band wanted to be like Neil Young and put out an album a year?), but I agree with the sentiment expressed (I think) above. As it is, Pearl Jam plays way too many covers live. The band has a repertoire of over 100 songs of its own. I would rather hear a Pearl Jam song than "Driven To Tears" or "I Believe In Miracles." I'd be happy if there were a maximum of one cover in any given set.
I personally really like the idea of the band playing covers. Most bands stop doing that once they have enough material for a set of their own stuff. I like that PJ still does this. You never know, any given show might be some fan's first, and a cover may be a treat for them!

I know what you mean. I want to hear Pearl Jam songs. I do think it's a cool thread though, not to be taken too seriously.
Stone's version of 1999!!
The Monster Mash
Cry Me A River - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VN5XxemQuT8 like this, except with Ed doing it.
Serious covers:
