  • I concur.

I have yet to receive my album in the mail, but succumbed to pressure and listened to the album via MySpace the opening weekend. Just Breathe is the song that hit me the hardest and I listen to it regularly via YouTube (as I patiently wait for my CD to arrive!)

    Beautiful song.
  • It's such a heartfelt song. Love it.
  • Really? Not a fan.... If it were on ITW then yes, but cant grasp it on a PJ album....
  • How can anyone not hear the great in this song???? This year has been a very emotional one and the moment I heard this song ( not even in full, but in the promo) it melted my heart. When Ed said "let's just breathe"... it's crazy how your already in need for a deep breath after hearing the first set of lyrics. It still brings tears to my eyes and backspacer is on constant repeat... This song is beautiful and I have no idea how anyone is a Pearl Jam fan and not completely in Love with this song! Everyone has the right to their own opinion.... it's just shocking however to hear that one doesn't like it....

Yes it is.....Sometimes feel it´s a bit over the top, maybe just guitar & bass would have made it even better
    but still.....Awesome lyrics as well.....

Love "The End" too, but like AtlantaJammer said....they are ITW songs....Not complaining though :)

Yeahhhh.....Just Breathe and the End are a little too ITW for my liking........I want fucking Pearl Jam not a soundtrack to a Sean Penn movie.....but I still really like Just Breathe. The End is okay....probably one of my least favs on the album though.

But even crap PJ is still good.....if you know what I mean?

If that's crap I will take a whole bowl of PJ shit for breakfast please! ITW was also incredible.... I don't understand... every album is different, great, and all grows... correct? There is so much variety on this album. I guess "Thumbing My Way" is bad too??? Just a question.....

Other than some musical similarities in these songs, they would have never worked on ITW. They are songs about loving people very deeply and wanting to be with them. ITW songs are about the exact opposite.

I like Just Breathe -- The End is a skipper for me though -- although it's nowhere near the wretchedness that is Come Back.

I hate this argument. A good song is a good song, regardless of what album it is on. Silly, silly, silly.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: If Just Breathe doesn't give you goosebumps, you have no soul.

Love the song, in fact was having a quiet moment last night and sat and read the lyrics to all of BS. To be honest I thought the lycrics to all the songs were quite moving even the up beat songs.

    Maybe it's just me. :?

Just Breathe sounds like a really easy song to sing at first. But when you actually try singing it, it's hard. I don't know how Eddie does it. 8-)
  • I can listen to this song over and over - so beautiful

I completely agree... every song on Backspacer just works. I LOVE IT!!!! Maybe the people that don't like
'just breathe" aren't in love or never have been to make it relate to them???? I just can't come up with any other reason why one can't like it.... it's probably my favorite song on the album. Its so weird to me...

Some people just like the fast, hard rocking stuff that PJ does and nothing else. That's the only way I can explain how people would not like Just Breathe, Parachutes and Thumbing My Way. Those are all fantastic songs, IMO.

  • 5th song in, after some real fine uppers. smart. it sucked me in hard. it always does. damn.
  • yeah just breathe and the end are two of the more beautiful songs i've heard in a long time. i understand some people like the harder songs, etc., but how can you not appreciate the lyrical content of those two songs? doesn't make sense to me
"Ah, life is a gate, a way, a path to Paradise anyway, why not live for fun and joy and love or some sort of girl by a fireside, why not go to your desire and LAUGH..."
  • Funny how everyone is so different. "Just Breathe" and "The End" were the first two songs to hit me immediately. Loved them the first time I heard them.
