So by dragging my girlfriend to 4 Pearl Jam shows, she's now dragging me to see U2 at the Rose Bowl. Small price to pay I guess.

I keep getting these emails from the Rose Bowl about parking and I've never been there. Anyone have any advice on the parking situation at the Rose Bowl?

ah parking in the arroyo...so much fun

i haven't received any emails about parking...can you post the text...then i'll be able to give you a better understanding :)
  • Here's the text. I'm just wondering if this is all bs or if there is some secret parking like the Preferred Parking at Universal.

    IMPORTANT U2 PARKING INFORMATION

TIME IS RUNNING OUT: In order to park at the Rose Bowl for the U2 event you MUST purchase parking in advance online. The last day for purchasing parking or shuttle passes online with a free shipping option is Monday, October 12th.

The last day to purchase parking or shuttle passes online via FedEx is Tuesday, October 20th. BUY NOW!

In order to park at the Rose Bowl you MUST:
    ARRIVE EARLY
    PURCHASE PARKING IN ADVANCE
    Preferred Parking
    Limousine Parking
    General Parking
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PARK & RIDE SHUTTLE BUSES
    PCC shuttle

Not only will arriving early minimize your travel time, we have great pre-concert activities planned as well.

Look for an e-mail closer to show day with specific directions and the best route to the Rose Bowl in order to avoid traffic & congestion.

huh...i haven't received any of this info :?

so here's the deal...the rose bowl is in the arroyo seco canyon...on the north side there are 2 golf courses...for the rose bowl game they are used as parking...judging by this email, it doesn't sound like they are but i would think they'd have to...anyway, getting in and out of the area is a pain...my advice, if you want to avoid a lot of assle, take the shuttle from old town

i've done it before and it's pretty slick...but do try to get there early...the shuttle take the same route as the rest of traffic so it will take a bit to get down to the bowl

Thank goodness I live in Altadena, which is only 3 miles north of the Rose Bowl. I'll just get a ride down there and then get picked up after the show - case closed. Or if traffic gets bad, I'll get dropped off at Arroyo St below the 210 freeway, and walk the rest.

    In a word... HELLISH.
Parking usually means opening up Brookside Park golf Course. The streets are two lane nightmares.
My suggestion... get there early...plan to stay late.
Or walk for miles along the Arroyo Seco.

I was at the Rose Bowl this morning and it was slightly hellish because of an RV convention (?). At 8 a.m.

Pasadena people will know better than me, but I believe there is ZERO STREET PARKING anywhere close so don't even try that. The shuttle sounds like a great idea.

I don't about Pasadena and The RB but at Fed Ex Field in MD the parking was included ($8) in the price of my general admission ticket. I didn't park in their parking lot, I park next to the stadium which made it a breeze when it was time to leave. i scouted this out the day before the show.

    U2-parking-MT.jpg

where it is shaded for both types of parking is essential the base of the arroyo...all of those streets will be jammed....however, the general parking area is on the golf course and if it's like the rose bowl game day, you can tailgate

i'm trying to decided whether to take the shuttle from old town, tailgate or do the 2 mile walk...sucks no matter what

I think the solution is obvious. Bigbadbill needs to host a pre-party so we can all benefit from his location!
