Just a heads up.i went to both shows @ the Gibson Ampl. and was as upset with the second show as I was happy with the 1st show...I was so dissapointed in the fans on the 2nd night and could not believe how unhappy they looked while the band was performing.I was in the 9th row orchestra and could see everything especially the (pit) area which was so embarrasing to see.The Crowd was starring at the Band like a bunch of Zombies...no emotion whatsoever.Los Angeles always get a rap for bad crowds and i think the Band was feeding off the crowd and they felt uncomfortable on stage.Let me say this I have been to over 15 PJ Shows and this was the worst.

Eddies exact quote after the 1st Encore "well play a couple more..we dont wanna keep you"...

I could see in the performance that this was not something the bands hearts were into.

So to everyone at the show.....you guys shouldnt take anything for granted and truly enjoy the two hours that you have your supposedly favorite band performing for you...

During the 1st show you could see eddie sharing drinks with fans also throwing out tamborines left and right and also had a fan come up on stage and sing with him...i saw nothing like this last night....

Guys please...show up and be accounted for and show the band you really are happy to be there..

In my opinion that was pathetic.....im sorry for everyone that was really excited because most people just acted like this was just a walk in the park..

People can enjoy a show in different ways. Not everyone has to jump around every second to enjoy the show.

Are you a traveler from opposite world? ;)

I was also at both shows and night 2 blew night 1 out of the water with crowd participation and energy.

Eddie said many times how much he appreciated the crowd on night 2.

    what a fucking joke

i can't remember how many times ed mentioned how much better the crowd was compared to night 1

here's a tip....the next time you go to a rock concert, watch the band

the crowd is not there to entertain you

Either way I think the band needs to get some response. I have been to the Vancouver show and the crowd was fantastic, showing the band how much people had fun, enjoyed the music, enjoyed the performance, etc. Ed's face was beaming the whole evening and Mike and Stone seemed to be totally at ease and happy with their night. And that again came back to us. The whole show was perfect and one of the best nights in my life. It was a great feeling to see that you can sort of communicate with the band and get something for it.
If people just stand around - no matter if they enjoy it or not - the band can't read minds and will conclude that people don't like it. They play better shows when they feel that it's worth it.
You can spend your time alone, re-digesting past regrets,
Or you can come to terms and realize
You're the only one who can't forgive yourself

That is pretty much how I would have described LA Night 2. Thought the band was really into it all night.

disagree. and i've been to a lot more shows than you. The band was having a lot of fun last night and the crowd did their part.

and talk about cherry picking a quote. He spoke positive of the crowd about 16 times.

  • I enjoyed last night's show and the crowd around me was totally into it. I was in the 10c section, Orchestra 5th row, but still. While the pit seemed more tame than the night before... that can't be helped because I wasn't in it.

While I personally liked night 1's setlist better, night two was fun and energetic. The cover of The Police's Driven to Tears was awesome... and the acoustic Lukin with the strings section trying to keep was hilarious... and yeah, we've all heard Alive, but not many versions like last night's, they were really into it.

I always love the way some people claim to have some sort of clairvoyance into what the band is feeling (even if it goes against what the band is saying).
It's right up there with people's expectations on how people are supposed to enjoy themselves at a concert.
    ...
Wy suggestion is quit worrying about other people not being the way you want or expect them to be and just fucking enjoy the show.

I hope the next time the crowd sucks in LA the band punishes us with a bunch of songs off of No Code, Yield, Binaural, and Riot Act........ that'll show us.:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Here what I don't understand... and maybe you can explain this to me... but, you were in the 9th row of the Orchestra... AND YOUR WERE WATCHING THE CROWD??? I personally know people in the Mezzinine that had a great time.
Next time you are that close... try watching the stage, not the seats.

I've been to PJ shows...and I really don't pay much attention to people around me.... maybe for a few seconds, but unless they were very distracting (making out, fondling, puking, spitting their drinks all over people).... they are out of sight, out of mind.
