For some reason my itunes is only updating my Top 25 from the songs that I only play on my computer- shouldn't it be counting also the songs that I play on my ipod after I plug it into my computer too?

  • Are you manually managing your iPod, or is it set to auto-sync?

Play count information doesnt sync between the iPod and iTunes if its set to manually manage.

    Hope this helps!

it automatically starts syncing when I plug it into the computer, so I'm assuming I have it as auto-sync, right? Where do I check for that? Thanks for the help!!!!!

  • Sorry for the late reply,

When your ipod is plugged in, you should be able to highlight it in the sidebar on the left. It should show a meter at the bottom showing how the space on the ipod is being used, but it should also have a series of check-boxes. One of those check-boxes says "Manually manage my music and folders", or something to that degree. Is that box checked? Let me know if I need to be more descriptive. :D

  • Hmmm, well in your case no. When it's unchecked it means that the computer is automatically syncing info from computer to iPod and vice-versa. It automatically syncs new music to the iPod as well as play counts from iPod to computer.

I just got a IPod, and the problem i'm having is this: When i delete a CD from ITunes, it will delete from my Ipod also. And i don't want that to happen. Example: When i import Backspacer to my ITunes, i have NO probelm getting BS into my IPod. But, then i will delete BS from Itunes, and then import YIELD to ITunes, and when i sync Yiled into my IPod, Backspacer will be deleted!! I was told that thers a way to PREVENT that from happening, but i can't figure that out.

I have to do this right now, because i'm EXTREMLY LOW on DISC SPACE, and thats a PROBLEM too. I APPRECIATE any HELP, as i'm LOW tech  ...............CUTZ

Take a look at what zacman13245 wrote above-

If your ipod is not set to manually sync, then when you connect it to your computer, it will erase what you have on your ipod and re-install what you have set in your itunes. So if BS is not in your Itunes any longer, then when you sync it will be gone on your ipod. So set your ipod to manage manually.
