White denim is the best band I have found all year. I heard they will release the album "Fits" to the United States next month, but I ordered it through some UK website. Check them out on From the Basement to see what you think. Rockin'

You may already be familiar with them, but I have recently gotten into 2 of Old Crow Medicine Show's albums, "OCMS" and especially "Big Iron World". Fantastic blue grassy/old time string band/fun stuff! Tennessee Pusher isn't quite as good.

Dredg. . . always Dredg. Their new album The Pariah, The Parrot, the Delusion is really good. Oceansize is good too.
  • My #2 band is Muse.

Matt Bellamy is a frickin' genius. Even if you don't like their sound, you have to appreciate how ridiculously talented the guy is on guitar AND piano. Plus, he composes every element of the tracks, even the string sections.

+1 Some songs are kind of strange, but still awesome. This band is unreal live.

  • Here's an old guy for ya. JJ Cale. He is a little more jam/blues type of guy. You probably recognize some songs he wrote if you don't know who he is. "after midnight", "cocaine", "travelin light," among others. He's pretty cool, real laid back stuff.

People may think its old hat but I have been way into DMB since new album came out. Holy crap. I keep wondering where the hell my head has been at for the last 15 years. Saw them a few weeks ago in Camden and they were awesome!

Otherwise, WSP and Trampled by Turtles. Wilco and throw in some Dead Weather. Oh and Cage the Elephant.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

  • Jack White's new band, The Dead Weather, is fantastic. And phenomenal live!

I also like some of the others that have been mentioned: Band of Horses, The Decemberists, also Grizzly Bear is great. Not at all like Pearl Jam, more atmospheric, but really great harmonies.

    The Vines
The Who ( Just picked up Quadrophenia on vinyl for $20 MINT and am loving it!)

Now if you are referring to newer bands, you can obviously delete a few listed.

I am looking forward to picking up the new Q-Tip album. I love good hip hop and R&B. I've heard his new album is more soulful than hiphopish. But I love the guy...so...
