    Yes, a few people have them. Since there are 18,000 of us living in an area that's less than 1.5 miles square, you tend to smell the wafting smoke. But it's pleasant. Beats the burning rubber smell from the tires of the planes landing at Logan Airport.

    Went to Florida for two weeks in May, semi-vacation, really to go to the agility nationals with the dogs so it wasn't exactly relaxing.

    I can't think of anyplace I didn't enjoy. I always loved Maine and New Hampshire. Bonaire in the Caribbean was amazing, but only if you're very into scuba diving.

    I once did a New Year's Day dive in Buzzards Bay (Cape Cod, Mass.). They had to break the ice for us to get into the water. They threw champagne bottles and we had to find them. Full wetsuit, of course. I prefer just light dive skins because it's so much easier to move around, but you can't do that in New England coastal waters.

    Mr. Unlost Dogs and I once went to NYC for a pre-holiday vacation. Not two hours after arrival I became violently ill. (I never get sick _ haven't been out sick from work in over 7 years.) Spent the entire time in our hotel room and at one point he was getting ready to get me to the nearest Emergency Department. Found out when I got home that there had been a Norwalk virus outbreak at my hospital, in my unit, and multiple staff members were out with the same thing. Of course, by the time I was due back at work after vacation I was fine, but 5 lbs lighter.

    Oh, yes. That's happened.

    And frankly, it's always a shock to wake up and realize that Mr. Unlost Dogs is not actually Eddie. (I'm an eternal optimist.)

    Off now to the company summer party. I will be having exactly two drinks. Just to the point that I love everybody, but before I become overly witty. At that point, exit stage left, out the door to the train to the marina where Mr. Unlost Dogs will be waiting with a cold beer with my name on it.
