Run, Runaway by Slade. Pretty sure it's impossible to be in a bad mood while listening to that song. Baba O'Riley in a close 2nd.

When fans of Sleater-Kinney listen to Sleater-Kinney and claim it to be awesome, what the hell are they actually hearing? (Cuz I don't fucking get it.)

    Don't worry. I don't get it either.

If you were musically talented and could play any instrument in any band, what instrument would you play and in what band?

I would have to go with guitar and be in an original band (wouldn't want to replace anyone in another band).

What is your second favorite band (after Pearl Jam, of course)?

Mother Night (Vonnegut)... also one of the best movie adaptations of a book I've seen. Excellent cast with Nick Nolte, Sheryl Lee, Alan Arkin, John Goodman. Vonnegut himself has a cameo near the end.

That said, what's your favorite book-to-movie adaptation?

Tough question. There are lots that come to mind. I think I will go with The Silence of the Lambs.

Hell no, it just got here! I honestly wish it were summer year round. Like I always say, I wouldn't mind seasons if we could skip the three shitty ones.

What's the strangest landmark you've ever seen?

There's a memorial in my new town dedicated to the brave soldiers who lost their lives during Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield. On the front, it lists their names and the conflict in which they fought and died. OK, pretty normal and heartbreaking.

But on the back there's this forehead slapper from Dan Quayle: "Operation Desert Storm truly was a victory of good over evil, of freedom over tyranny, of peace over war."

    I mean, what?

    WHAT!?!

    No.

(And yes, the man who spoke it was a grade A moron, but so was whatever town council decided that it was OK to engrave that quote on the memorial.)

Good ol' chips & dip. I'm talking greasy fingers & a tub of french onion. None of that pita & hummus (aka wet sand) bullshit.

Do you think Pringles originally intended to make tennis balls? (Stolen from the great Mitch Hedberg)
