No, I watched just the clip of his performance this morning. I wasn't gonna sit through an entire episode of Letterman for that.

What did you think of the performance?

Wasn't the best performance he's ever done ever, was a bit awkward without PJ, but was definitely enjoyable to watch. Dave and Ed seem to have a lot of mutual reverence for each other.

Well I've seen Ed perform solo without pj before - on his own tour, as well as those times he performed a song before the opening act on pj tours. So it wasn't awkward to see him without pj. I thought it was typical Ed, rocking out and having fun. You could tell he just came from playing with Pete Townsend because he was doing those windmills and guitar leaps or whatever they're called. I enjoyed it. Too bad Man of the Hour wasn't played though - I thought it would've been a perfect song for Dave's farewell.

    Same question.

Since that is probably the only time I'll see him perform (unless a tour in announced), I was happy with the performance. It was interesting to see the band feed off of his energy. I loved the hug Dave gave him at the end. I just wish I didn't have to suffer through Tom Hanks to watch that.

Do you think Dave will get choked up during the show's finale?

It depends on the guests. He has some guests he has such great chemistry with and others not so much.

Hope so but starting to feel a little skeptical. I think if we don't hear something in the next month it'll be just South America for pj this year and no ev solo shows. :disappointed:

  • I think BigBank may have been on to something. Canadian crowds don't need much time to show up. (I also think that EV on Letterman last night was sure as shit missing Mike)

Any one he sees fit. He has always stated that there are so many great bands that the disparity is huge when he want to promote someone.

    Is Pearl Jam slowly dis-banding?

I got a Mark Knopfler CD included free when I bought tickets a couple of months back to see him in September - does that count?

How often do you go to see music of a non-rock genre?

Swap it for vinyl and love it. We have the super coolest rock vinyl store here. The dude who owns it retired as a roadie and toured with just about every big metal band from Pantera to Slipknot. The place is covered in autographed memorabilia and photos from his touring days. If you are ever in AZ go to asylum records in Mesa. He promised next visit to spill some stories about Pantera I am dying to hear.

Do you know any great band stories?
