Wait, I shouldn't say what my phobia is...someone might think it's funny to send me a box of my phobia...wait, I'm afraid of $100 bills... ;)

I feel the same way you do SD, I'm not being told 'how many'...I'm scared. I'd like to keep it to say 5 people total.

Do you like ice cream or cake?

Not issues with big crowds, just not a fan of lots of people making a big fuss over me all at once...not knowing who is going to be there weirds me out too.

(one person I know hates ice cream cake...I don't get it)

    Do you buy yourself presents?

  • I just bought myself some goodies from the PJ store for my bday (which if I'm inferring these posts right, may actually be the same day as someone else's around here . . . ). I told my husband there is no point in my writing down what I want and then having him get online to order it. It's not special or surprising, but if I don't do it this way, I get nothing!

Do you have a favorite birthday party from childhood?

Not really. I don't actually remember of my childhood parties. I vaguely remember one of them but not the party itself just a photo and some details. My birthday is right before school starts and usually coincides with a big US "vacation" week so it was always a really terrible/traumatic experience as a child. Then during my teens I had to go to funerals on my birthday for several years in succession. I think the 17th was the only birthday I had where nothing bad happened, and I remember THAT day being incredibly suspicious and like confused when the penny never dropped.

    Do you celebrate your birthday?

Yes, it was at a place called Farrell's...it was an ice cream parlor. They served me this huge ice cream sundae-it was bigger than my head-there is a pic of me next to it...and I'm eating french fries. All my little pre-school friends were there.

Do you still know anybody from when you were in pre-school?

  • No, but I remember the horrible pre-school teacher I had.

How many years have you known your oldest friend for?

    Nope.

Did anyone else notice that the birthday part of the profiles is now gone? Should we start a degenerate birthday thread so that we have actual dates? (We're not asking years, y'all!) We have a degenerate birthday coming up next week. It's why I ask.

    if you wish

do you think if one has had a hard life with demons, dirt, drugs and sickness and verbal abuse and divided family from other peoles created contention that after being hurt and broken and dead it wouldnt be hard to hate and be defensive when they dont see the love
  • deadendpdeadendp Posts: 10,434
First. Wow. Um, that is a lot to contain in one realllllly long sentence. Secondly, I think that life is kind of what you make of it. We've all had demons. We've all had dirt. We've all had sickness. Maybe not all with drugs or verbal abuse. Nonetheless, rising above and using as a tool to teach with. Not allowing such things to continually eat away. Turning negativity into positivity and if that isn't possible, seeking help from professional sources may be a positive venture for one in such circumstances.

Anything starry out your way this evening?

No, but I did have a wild chipmunk steal a bag of Oreos from my campsite and drag it down the trail behind him  . At that point we just said "go for it, take the cookies".

Do you think chipmunks like Oreos?

I have, when people come to visit. It's not something I've ever done without outside influence.

Would you consider making the switch from smart phone to old school phone?

I like to search and throw unwanted items into the donation pile. Not necessarily the bin unless far past usefulness.

Is it tax free weekend where you live?

If I shop in Oregon, then every weekend is tax free.

From where you live can you drive to another state in, say, 15-20 minutes?
  • deadendpdeadendp Posts: 10,434
Nope. East is about 35-45 minutes. South is probably 2 hours. North is Lake Erie and that is about 40 minutes. I don't know about west.

Chocolate. What kind and how much?
