Yeah it was recommended to us and we checked it out after we got Netflix earlier this year. Watched the first 5 1/2 seasons in about a month and was caught up the week before the second half of season 5 started. Brilliant show.
Apparently Anthony Hopkins called Bryan Cranston up and told him he was a big fan of the show and that his (Bryan's) acting had been the best he'd ever seen.

The show itself didnt seem to need much technology but I think the content would have to be different. I'd guess the writers would have to think about "Google search" factor before making the characters ramble on things like, "What was the woman name rhyming with a body organ?".
