The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

LMAO i know what they are refering to. A heating pad. My mom calls it that and a few weeks after my back surgery she asked if i wantd her vibrator i was horrified to hear that from my mom. I exclaimed NO MOM I DON'T. She was confused and had to explain to me that she was talking about her heating pad.

 I love it when parents say things SO wrong! One Christmas, my mother-in-law was yelling at my nephew 'Randy! Go and put all your playboys away!' (Randy was 14 at the time) I swear, everybody stopped talking and waited to hear what Randy was gonna say...'um grandma, it's a playSTATION'

ever say something really wrong in front of a large group of people?

I plan on an encore performance at PJ20...

ever go to a concert with a cast on?

Never been cool enough for a cast. But, I have a friend that had a snow plow dropped on his foot, went to an EV solo gig and Ed said "thanks for toughing it out" and handed him his harmonica....

So, question is, who wants to break one of my limbs?

Will someone break one of my limbs?

I am afraid that I am opposed to intentionally maiming another human being. So I can't help you with getting your limbs broken.

However, I can offer the suggestion that you come to Atlanta and drive like an utter moron. Then, as a final act, slam on your brakes just as you are about to go through a stale green light. I promise you that you will emerge from that experience with at least one broken limb, albeit at the business end of a tire iron or something. :P

So I guess now I'm supposed to ask a question. In your opinion, do you think this board is welcoming to new people? Or is it cliquish and/or pretty harsh? I ask this in seriousness, because I have been on both types of boards and would just assume skip the latter type. Pearl Jam has been a favorite band for a very long time...and I wouldn't want a negative experience with fandom to color that. In other places, I have seen fans of other bands, TV shows, movies, you name it, just suck the joy out of the experience for others who happen upon them, and so I have become wary of getting involved with any sort of fan groups. Especially when something means a lot to me.

So what can a newcomer here expect?
  • welcome to the boards! we love new people here, except the guy called dimitrispearljam but dont worry he doesnt like anyone :lol::lol: love you dimi! ;) youll have a blast here dont worry. just a word of warning, this place if pretty addictive. once you realize that youve found the place where people dont just understand your pj addiction but are just as or more addicted that you are, its like finding home!

how long have you been listening to pj?

Some days, too many, other days, not enough ;):D

    Do you have any pets?

And I just want to add a Welcome to the AET PKTrekGirl  I've found this place to be pretty awesome. It was the first band/tv show -related board that I ever joined, and it is still, by far, the best. A lot of fabulous characters around here, a few I've met in real-life and many more I look forward to meeting someday. I hope you enjoy your experiences here.

According to BD, and this is very good advice, . . .
If you are looking for a good laugh, the AET is your place
If you are looking trade some PJ stuff then Lost Dogs is your place
If you are looking to increase your blood pressure because of non PJ related discussion, then A moving Train is your place
If you are looking to increase your blood pressure because of PJ related discussion, then The Porch is your place
If you want to follow everyone reviewing the tours and getting their blood pressure up because their show was better than the other guys show (if they tour) then Given To Fly is your place

The rest is pretty self explanatory

    Have fun!!!
