I have to go with Release at Alpine..I love that song as an opener and with the crowd, it was on a whole other level that night.

What song would you like to close with besides Yellow Ledbetter?
Show #13 was a lucky one for me....

Totally agreed there - that was coming from another planet that night.... it is THE perfect opener.

Tough question - I can't even really answer that. But I would go with Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay by Otis Redding.

What is your pick as the best PJ 1-2 punch to open a show?

Yep..that was unlost talking about meeting up with a bunch of strangers :D

Did you go to the PJ20 pre-party?
Show #13 was a lucky one for me....
  • dankinddankind Posts: 20,834
I did not. I got lost in the middle of Wisconsin farmland, looking for Alpine Valley that evening so that I could pick up tickets early, and by the time I got there, it was dark and Pearl Jam was soundchecking "In My Tree," "Help Me," "LBC," "In the Moonlight."

I mean, I just couldn't leave that, now could I?
    I SAW PEARL JAM
  • afroannnieafroannnie Posts: 12,995
That's a good excuse not to leave :D We went to the pre-party early, but my friend was at alpine listening to the soundcheck and relaying info to me :D

Do you usually go to the pre-parties?

No. All three times that I have tried -- Tres Mts. NYC; EV Hartford, for which I even had donations to bring; and PJ20 -- I have failed.

Should I even attempt it next time around?

Yep! Saw a local band Hydrophonic on Wednesday. Kick ass- think a cross of Metallica, Mastadon and heavier Neil. The bass player is a crazy ass PJ freak too.

Yay! I hope she had a good trip.

Well I decided to give myself a 3-day weekend a couple of weeks ago to try to do something fun with the day off, but then my heater broke twice this week and I spent all morning waiting for it to get fixed...so yeah I'm still figuring out what I want to do this weekend...

Do you like having a "do-nothing" weekend sometimes?
