I wouldn't but that's just me. I know they've been to shows before but I would want it to be an "adult only" weekend so I could party it up.
Do you think it's unreasonable for my husband to not say for sure if I can go to the festival or not? I'm a little ticked at him for it.If you have nothing to lose, you have nothing to worry about.0 -
yes it is...if he has his 'fun days' you should get them too!
Why are people making plans like they already know 'where' it's gonna be? (unlost, you're one of the few that are thinking the Gorge!)
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

I'm hoping for The Gorge because it looks so cool and we can party together!Jukee wrote:Do you think it's unreasonable for my husband to not say for sure if I can go to the festival or not? I'm a little ticked at him for it.
A little ticked at him? A little?
Permission? I think not. Unreasonable is the understatement of the year.
Unlost: "I'm going to PJ Woodstock on the other side of the country!"
Mr. Unlost: "I thought you hate to fly?!?"
Unlost: "I'm over it. And if the plane crashes, I'll be a legend in the forum."
Mr. Unlost: "Bring your slicker, it rains a lot up there in the Pacific Northwest."
What can I do about this fear of flying?!?15 years of sharks 06/30/08 (MA), 05/17/10 (Boston), 09/03/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/04/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/30/12 (Missoula), 07/19/13 (Wrigley), 10/15/13 (Worcester), 10/16/13 (Worcester), 10/25/13 (Hartford), 12/4/13 (Vancouver), 12/6/13 (Seattle), 6/26/14 (Berlin), 6/28/14 (Stockholm), 10/16/14 (Detroit)0 -
Okay i'm more than ticked Unlost, i'm furious, i'm just trying to stay calm because I quit smoking and I'm alittle more irritated than usual. The thing is I need him to come with me. He's the only other PJ fan I know (not as big as me obviously), and i'm too chicken to travel alone. To make me even angrier about 10 minutes after that conversation he say's...I think I want to go see a CFL (football) game in the fall. WTF? He's not even a fan of football, never has been. He just thinks it would be cool to go with a bunch of friends for the partying. Anyway's bottom line is we're going. I don't care what he say's.
So about flying...I'm not the biggest fan of it either so I have no suggestions for you but to listen to music and try not to think about it.
How many times have you been on a plane? If you have nothing to lose, you have nothing to worry about.0 -
not that many...maybe 4-5? I HATE flying!
Unlost: bring some beach balls with you...as soon as the plane is taking off, start to 'hyperventilate' into a few of them...of course when they are fully inflated, bounce them around the plane....
I really do hope it's at the Gorge too...it's nice and HOT in the summer...cools off in the evening. Hotels are close....though it is quite a drive to there from any airport. If it's at the Gorge and you go, I'll buy you a $9 beer ok?
How much is 'too much' to pay for a beer? The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

I've lost count  ... so far have 4 flights booked in the next couple of months.
EDIT 4&20 - Depends how much you need the beer
Do you think more flying will help with your fear?So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0 -
$13 bucks is what I paid for one at my first PJ concert in Toronto, now that's over priced.
How much is a case a beer there? (Here it's between $35-$40 bucks)If you have nothing to lose, you have nothing to worry about.0 -
I actually don't know!
Well, if all else fails we can always meet up when we get there. Since this is likely to happen during boating season Mr. Unlost most definitely will stay home. He's not a fan, anyway. This will work out well because I won't have to bring somebody in to take care of the unlost dogs.
I suspect we won't be the only ones traveling alone...
Last time you traveled alone someplace?15 years of sharks 06/30/08 (MA), 05/17/10 (Boston), 09/03/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/04/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/30/12 (Missoula), 07/19/13 (Wrigley), 10/15/13 (Worcester), 10/16/13 (Worcester), 10/25/13 (Hartford), 12/4/13 (Vancouver), 12/6/13 (Seattle), 6/26/14 (Berlin), 6/28/14 (Stockholm), 10/16/14 (Detroit)0 -
3 years ago drove at 2am to Bar Harbor, ME got there at 7am
Dissidentman burned me 7 Live PJ cd's without one repeat song for my trip...
What a guy huh??
Where are we going? a little lost here."...And I fight back in my mind. Never lets me be right.
I got memories. I got shit so much it don't show."0 -
I've never traveled alone....
Jukee: it depends on the beer...Heineken, regular price around $30, but on sale $18-20
Chime: I don't know...I try to avoid flying as much as possible...
Edit: very sweet of D-man Boo....talking PJ fest...we want the Gorge!

Sorry, I was too busy cracking up laughing and trying to hide it from The Other Person In The Office. I did a kind of an inhaling snorting thing and in my distress I forgot to ask a question.
Here's my question for you:
Really?15 years of sharks 06/30/08 (MA), 05/17/10 (Boston), 09/03/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/04/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/30/12 (Missoula), 07/19/13 (Wrigley), 10/15/13 (Worcester), 10/16/13 (Worcester), 10/25/13 (Hartford), 12/4/13 (Vancouver), 12/6/13 (Seattle), 6/26/14 (Berlin), 6/28/14 (Stockholm), 10/16/14 (Detroit)0 -
