Ten is possible Phish Halloween cover album

For those who dont know, when Phish plays on Halloween they play an album of another artist as their "costume". This year they are playing a festival in california that weekend and they put up a list of albums that are possibilities to be played. Ten is one of the albums. I doubt it will happen but thought it was cool so I thought I would share.

It would be awesome, but they couldnt pull off the vocals.

I used to work with a kid who followed phish around (a decade ago that is) ... did they already do Thiller in the late 90s? for some reason, that sounds familiar.

    that's a HUGE list

  • I'll make an early guess of Ziggy Stardust.

Kid A would be amazing though. Or ten of course :)

no they havent done it yet. Off the top of my head, Quadrophenia, The White Album, Dark Side, Remain in Light (talking heads), Loaded (velvet underground) I think that is all of them.

when they played The White Album, the show didnt end until after 3am. That is just crazy.

  • If Pearl Jam wasn't playing Halloween I would be in Indie, CA at Phish Phestival 8.. PJ and Phish are the two best live bands in the universe! Priority one though, PJ..
Seen PJ 21 times live from 1994-2019

    what he said.

Saw Phish 8 times this year, including the comeback run in Hampton and the show at Fenway. They as good as they ever had.

"We're running out of beer, too?" EV 6/19/08

  • something tells me they won't pick and album by a band like Pearl jam that is still active and touring...plus, PJ are too dark and serious for Phish.....whatever they play will be more lighthearted, trippy, or funky

they played Dark Side of the Moon in 1998 as a huge prank (almost like a "fuck you" to fans in a way)

Halloween that year was in Vegas, and speculation was they were gonna play Dark Side, but they played Loaded by velvet underground

then 3 days later, at a show in Utah in a relatively small venue that most tour heads were gonna skip - they bust out Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety!!!!
"I'll tell you what: If all I had was Pearl Jam, and I didn't have another band in the world, I would not be worried. Because in there is the essence of making great music. You don't have to use it all at once, but it's there." - Neil Young

I couldn't agree more! :) I loved my Chicago PJ shows, and as much as I'd love to see em again on Halloween, I can't pass up the chance to see a Halloween Phish show, and festival all in one. I've never been to either, and have been a phish fan since 95, so I think it's in order. :D I am absolutely going to freak if they play TEN. I agree that they won't be able to capture the essence of the songs with the vocals, but I could see them jamming out in the middle of porch and just ripping ALIVE up.

    The text says:

    PHISH
Will play the last album alive

Although that KISS album is on there too and could also hint to that...

They love to mess with our minds!

So who knows! Might be weird to hear them play PJ live, but it sure would be interesting and exciting!

no chance of it happening anyway, and does anyone really want to hear that?? I like Phish, but them playing Ten would sound beyond awful, and they would have to know that, wouldn't they?

Sticky Fingers is my personal pick and also my prediction.

of what's left, I'd guess Purple Rain.

Don't think they'd go the obvious route with MJ, would they?
