Has Ron Paul ever explained his behavior from Bruno?

Yes, I know, that Sasha Baron Cohen deliberately made that scene really uncomfortable, but I found Ron Paul's behavior, and his comment afterword, pretty distasteful.
If nothing else, I think Borat and Bruno, the movies, show, how racist, sexist, homophobic, etc... our country and world still is. I mean, how can some of these people continue to go on, for instance, how could Paula Abdul, even agree to sit on Latino people, using them as chairs? I mean, where is the line drawn for her, in terms of decency and respect for fellow humans?
So has Ron Paul or Abdul for that matter explained their behavior?

He also said, that he wishes he punched "Bruno" in the nose for his advance. I can't blame him.

I thought you meant he was in that Bruce Willis video from the 80's.
