  • I would like to switch to Breakerfall to open tonight, please. There's no way they will open with Why Go in the same venue two nights in a row. I'll want to go back to Why Go for ACL & SD, though.

    Done.

    I'm feeling good tonight, though...so look out. Let's go Long Road!

    Looks like I got another win, right? 30-20. I got The Fixer, The End & Red Mosquito. You got Johnny Guitar & Alive. Am I missing anything?

  • My suggestion for the next round is that maybe you have less main set slots. Maybe turn 3 of the slots into the talked about "bench" slots that can be swapped in for various nights. A few less total songs per night might make things more interesting. A couple songs on everyone's rosters pretty much have no chance of being played, realistically. It would make the overall talent pool a little better. Also, the addition of a main set closer might be cool. Maybe something like 10 songs total: 1 opener, 4 main, 1 main closer, 2 Encore#1, 1 Encore#2, & 1 Closer....Just a thought.

    Not a bad idea but the "less common" songs are what are going to create the difference. If you take a look at the scores despite the high number of songs we have the score is actually pretty low. For my tastes I like the idea of "hitting" on more than one song as opposed to just one or two.

    I guess you can say I will be like the Bettman of this thing. I want more scoring!!!!!!!

    I wish I didn't miss out on this but probably better for everyone as I would probably dominate this just like I am dominating the Wishlist Fantasy Football league! :lol:

    I also want more scoring.... but it is hard. With only 8 teams it is rare for one of us to call even 4 songs out of 13.

    I'll talk to Eduardo about those thoughts as we move towards the next generation. :D

    The desire for more scoring is precisely why I made my suggestions! I believe my suggestions would create more. Even though you are dropping down the number of songs in the main set in my suggestion, the overall quality of the songs in the song pool would be increased. Plus, by adding a bonus for main set closer, that would add more point scoring possibilities.

    Did I miss something? Maybe I was looking at the wrong setlist? How is it Jecica would have gotten 45 points?

    I think she got:

    Jecica
    Opener

    * Wash

    Main Set

    * Once - 5 Points
    * Severed Hand -10 Points
    * Dissident - 10 Points
    * Green Disease
    * MFC
    * Nothingman
    * Amongst the Waves 10 Points
    * God's Dice

    Encore 1

    * Bee Girl
    * Lukin - 10 Points

    * Throw Your Hatred Down

    Closer

    * Wishlist

    Encore 2

    She got the 5 points X 5 for getting 5 songs correct, and she got the bonus for 4 songs.

    Sorry for being MIA yesterday. My Friday/Saturday work commitments are usually pretty hectic...I'll post the final results when I get home today, but I'm pretty sure Wilds has it correct, or at least close.

    PresentlyAlive, I think that is a totally reasonable suggestion. The only danger I see is that people would just not ever include some of the more rarely played songs, and those end up being the determining factor. I do feel like the pickings got super slim toward the end of our draft, and adding any bench spots to what we currently have would be useless because the vast majority of what's left is super rare.

    I'm thinking now that maybe the best way to do it is to make each "league" a max size of 6, and add bench spots, so there is more roster management, rather than cutting down the starting lineup. For instance, on the Australian tour we could have two leagues going, and the final two shows can be a playoff matchup between the winners of the two leagues.

    I've also thought it might be better to just do away with the draft entirely, and everybody just submits a more extensive setlist. That would be a lot more of a commitment on the players, though, and I enjoy feeling the ownership on certain songs...

  • I updated MonkeyWrench's score to reflect Corduroy being part of the main set, not the opener. The official setlist lists Interstellar Overdrive as a separate song. MonkeyWrench's score is now 30 instead of 25, but Jecica still beats him.
