We've got one that Ed threw to us at Santa Barbara. It's sitting on our mantle. :)

I haven't been lucky enough, but three of my good friends have caught one. Of course they're all female so maybe that gave them a slight edge over me in getting one. ;)

In Santa Barbara... Ed pointed me out and tossed it but the dude in front of me intercepted it. And we (me and Ed) both went, "Wha? Oh, well...". I wasn't too worried about it for some reason or another.
Then, in San Francisco... during 'Rockin' in The Free World', Ed tossed out a bunch to us in the front railing. Mostly to the ones of us who slept the night before on the sidewalk. During 'Yellow Ledbetter', Ed pointed at me and tossed me one... which I gave to this tiny gal that was standing behind me who was getting her ass kicked by the kooks all night. I felt bad because she had to spend most of the night staring at the back of my sweaty shirt.
Ed got one last tamborine and pointed at it and said... "This one is for you." and tossed it out.
I got it signed at the Fonda Theater after the Hulabaloo and it has a really nice wave on it. It's up on my wall.

i did at the cleveland '06 show...still haven't figured out how to display it. tried to get a shadowbox for it but haven't found one that's deep or long enough. right now it's sitting on my entertainment center, making me smile every day. :)

i personally havent caught one, a friend of mine caught a bottle of eddies wine at camden 06. he filled up an empty gatorade bottle twords the end of crazy mary and tossed it out to him like 5 rows back on mikes side. he drank about half right there and saved the rest. still has it to this day. the cool thing is that his brother has a you tube link on his myspace page where he fills it up and throws it out to him.
Small my table, seats just 3, its not crowded, its just lucky me

Both of mine (Irvine 6.3.3 and San Fran 7.16.6) are in a velvet-lined guitar case, awaiting proper frameage. Both of those moments, catching those, were two of the five best moments of my life. The first is a long story that I'll tell if there's interest, but the second just involved finally (after 35 shows) getting on the rail (right across from Cosmo and the girls!) after 3 nights sleeping in line outside the venue in Frisco, freaking the almighty fuck out on ten for all 3 shows, and Ed pointing to me, nodding and tossing it to me at the end of it all. So rad.

Yep, and it's in mint condition. It's sitting on my stereo speaker at home, with ed's wine bottle cork in the hole. I wonder what he did with the monster mask I "traded" him for them...

Got one at Boston 2 in '04. Ed pointed to me but the two guys on my sides tried to jump for it anyway. Luckily I got it. The old man to my right(in his late 40's-early 50's who was there because he had season tix) said, "Nice catch." I said, "He pointed to me." It has Ed's blood on it. He must have cut his hand hitting it so hard. And I am having it framed.
I shit and I stink. I'm real, join the club.

A friend, he called, I didn't mention a thing. The last thing he said was, "Be sound". Sound. I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit. I just thought those would be such appropriate last words. But I'm still here.

are you framing it on its own or with anything behind it? i have pics of ed with the tambourines from that show and thought they'd be a cool background...not sure what to do with it.

the moment when ed pointed to me before the toss was definitely one of the coolest of my life. in fact, i was so in shock when i saw him point that the tambourine bounced off me...i went from rocking out to looking like a deer in headlights. :D i was on the end of the aisle (side stage), so luckily i was able to retrieve it when i came out of my temporary paralysis. :p

We caught the tambourine in Vienna 2006 :-)
It's little damaged, but a nice memory of a great concert.
You can listen the tambourine during the encore when Ed indroduced the band :-))

and you got the only one tossed out that night. The second one was flung out about halfway back by the stage crew after the show was over.

got one last tour, boston night 2...i was about 15 rows back and near the end of RTIFW ed turned his back and flung it over his head...it bounced around a couple of people and somehow ended up in my hand while some guy was climbing my back trying to pull it away...it's beat-up but 100% intact...i've got it in a bag, in a box...i'm trying to make a coffee table with a glass top and sunken in it will be my ticket stubs, visor and shirt from ed, and my tambourine...

I want to put something like a black velvet background behind it, and put the ticket stub in the same frame, but that's probably it unless I can find a pic of him holding a tambourine from that show. And that could be really tough. But that's a cool idea of yours.

It was one of the coolest moments in my life too. I remember saying, "Thank you" after I caught it. It plays really slow in my head, but I guess that is because it was such a great moment. But I've seen the video someone took of the show and it is about 4 seconds.

    Congrats on your catch!

yep, first 1 was Athens for sure!
we ALL pointed at her when he got them out..I mean come on! she'd been at the barrier EVERY SINGLE shows and she hadn't got one!
and whilst I was cheering her from the other side of the T-barrier for getting it he threw the next one to the guy right next to me!
We took the tambourine on a tour of Athens the next day..it visited the Acropolis :D

In Austria last year, I ended up wedging myself in between 2 cool Irish blokes. they had a flag with lots of signatures on them and quickly during the show I knew they'd get a tambourine.. didn't fail, he threw one at them, I helped grab it for them.
there's no point in getting one if it's not intended for you!

which brings me to another story, think it was in Madrid last year.
Ed throws I think it was a wristband at some guy during the show, but he doesn't get it, a girl end up with it..and the security guy comes and take it from her and gives it to the guy instead..and Ed from the stage tries to tell the security guy 'no, it's ok, leave it to her' and she 's like really miffed.
    I knew she'd get a tambourine at the end, didn't fail ;)

pretty young girls and some high energy guy (who half the time is some asshole pissing everyone around :() are generally a safe bet for getting one...or a kid in the front row, that's 200% safe bet.. Ed's predictable ;)

my friends wife caught it at the Borgata 1 show... she is about 5'1 :)

ed pointed at her and made sure she got it... some douche at the bar afterwards offered her like $500 for it and kept persisting when she said no. who would want to buy a tamborine someone else caught?

as a side note, i banged my head on it for good luck before the 2nd show... it worked
