Anyone a fan? Just settling in right now to watch Season 1 on DVD.
As a sociology major I am excited because I hear the show is well, very sociological in its look at inner city life.

Don't give up on it during season 2.
Stick with it. It moves "slower" then fast pace normal tv shows, but the build up is so good and the pay off is wonderful.

I heard going in that season 2 was a bit of a drop off. While I can see why people that got hooked by season 1 might be a bit thrown, I didn't think it was half bad. But then, I watched it all on dvd so I could move pretty quick. But seasons 3-4 were its pinnacle, and some of the best tv ever created.
For what it's worth, I also liked Season 2.
8/08 - Ed solo in DC, 6/09 Ed in B'more,
10/10 - Brad in B'more
I once saw Prop Joe at a Mexican restaurant. He was with an entourage of shady characters so I just stayed a safe distance.
i like it, slow moving, but so many little things that you can see will come together
I wave to all my Friends... Yeah!

Don't let me turn you off man. Despite the conceited gobshite thing, I truly do have decent taste. Just see my Buckcherry quote in the other thread.
I wasn't referring to you. Someone I know here in Chinatown.
Edit: And now you've gone and made me feel bad about what I said about you in the 'Define Liberalism' thread.
Oh, my bad. Well, if the shoe fits, as they say!
well you know what it is like out here, quality tv like that will have been programmed late on one of the commercial networks and then dropped due to low ratings...
ABC2 have it on tuesday nights...
i am currently 60% of the way to aquiringing all 5 seasons by other means :? :ugeek:
I wave to all my Friends... Yeah!
Have any of you watched The Corner? It was a 6-part prequel-type to The Wire, by the same writers and some of the same actors, just much less dramatised.
