Did you give or get your Karma Love today?

I thought maybe we could post the good deeds we do for people, and the good things we recieve. It may encourage us all to do that little bit extra for one another, as alot of us here are a little competitive, ;)
It could make for a Global race, for who can get the most Brownie points, and that can't be a bad thing. 8-)

If this does not sound like you, thats ok. If this intrigues you, I have left the following example of what I'm on about.

True Story.
I went shopping a couple of days ago and for me, that means hitting the National Highway and going flat stick for ten minutes to the next town. As soon as I hit the Hwy, I saw an older bloke, broken down with smoke coming out from his bonnet. There was already another car pulled over to help so I kept driving. 3 hours later,
I returned and he was still there with a dog waiting.
I went home, dumped my shopping, and went straight back with a bottle of water, a cup and a bowl. He was extremely grateful, and was saying how suprised he was that I came with such a kind gesture. We chatted for 1/2 hour and he assured me he was fine and that help was coming.

And then this -

My friend next door comes over yesterday, with her 'not so old' dishwasher. She had replaced it with a new one because it wasn't working, only to discover it was a peanut in the out-let valve that caused the problem.
Wow. Now I have a free dishwasher that I've been wanting for years but it was a luxury I could not afford and was resigned to thinking I was always going to have " dish washer hands".

I Don't mean we do these kind things to help people out, just to expect it to come back, but that out of pure kindness for others we get good Karma stories. :D

I don't have anything recent but can i share my favorite karma story?

I had been out of work for 4 months living in charlotte and my gf at the time had split from me about a month before i lost my job. Not exactly a good time. I desperatly wanted to get out of charlotte and get a job in Atlanta where i had some friends. I go on a job interview and it went well i thought but it was for a job i really don't have much experience in. On my way back to charlotte from the interview i see a guy walking on teh side of the road. I pull over and ask if he needs some help he says he ran out of gas and is walking to the next exit to try to find a gas station. So i tell him to get in we go get gas and i bring him back to his car.

I end up getting the job and i'm still employed at the same place 6 years later.

A couple of months ago, I had to spend every day at the hospital with someone there. I could tell my kids were feeling neglected but there was no way around it. One morning while I was getting ready to go, one of the kids asked if I could bring home a treat for them all and I said I would.
At the hospital I scavenged in the bottom of my bag and all through the car and came up with 5 bucks. I bought some chocky at the hospital to take home with me.
On the way out, I saw a young Dad, saying goodbye to his wife who had just had a baby, but his very young son was crying and did not want to leave his mum. I could see his mums' heart breaking and the Dad was lost for what to do, so I gave him the chocky which he quickly gave his young son, and within moments was now happy saying goodbye to mum and they left.
The Mum thanked me and I said I knew what she was going through. I left with warm fuzzies.
On the way to my car, it was raining and now I felt a bit sad that I had nothing to take home to my kids like I promised.
I dropped my keys and kicked them at the same time, not far, but when I reached to get them, I saw 20 Bucks
just under the wheel of a car.
I took home McDonalds for dinner.................now for my kids, THAT was a treat! :D
  • Not yet, but you seem to have plenty there Jo!! :D On both ends...

    Wish you were here...

:) See? that's nice. You had been out of work and money would have been a stress and you would have been thinking about the fuel you were burning, but you did it anyway. :D I hope you like your job!

Today, I took my Polaroids from No Code and put them is some sturdy packaging with a bow, and sent them to France to a fellow 10c member, just for the love of spreading the Jam. This person wants to try thier hand at collecting them.
The polaroids will just get wrecked here by the kids like everything else I own.
'Oo La la'.........................lets see if Karma loves me big time for that one ;)

The OP stated "people" but I think karma extends beyond others of our own species I got a message yesterday morning at work saying that this lady and her dog found a litter of kittens in the state park and that she "couldn't take them." (of course. most people care, just not enough to inconvenience themselves). Anyway, I emailed the local shelter because I was at work and it would be hours before I could go. Plus, we have taken in our limit of strays (dogs and cats). Well, yesterday evening it was getting dark and ready to storm so I thought I had better go make sure that someone had taken care of the kittens. Lucky I did because they were curled up on a piece of playground equipment. I took them home and fed them and watered them - they were so hungry and thirsty. I got on FaceBook to share the info and hopefully find someone that might want a kitten. I also expressed by frustration as to the people that would leave them there and a little frustration at the people that call other people to take care of issues like that instead of doing something themselves. Sadly, a a friend (who is now uber religion) insinuated that I was as bad as the people who dumped the kittens and those that left them there because I griped about it on FaceBook. The Karma love I got back: the kittens all curled up and safe in my garage.

    Anyone want a kitten?

I give 15hrs of my time volunteering each week. (of course I'm unemployed so I have plenty of time to give)

I love volunteering, you don't have to worry about getting fired! and it's great to help people.

:D You did a very kind thing and venting your anger about it does not make you as bad as the ' dumpers'.
People can be so heartless when it comes to animals. Thats why I like " What goes around comes around" and they will get thiers.
