The new season began last night, and sadly, in my opinion, not even Megan Fox AND U2 couldnt save this episode.
Also, this was the very first episode without Darrel Hammond- who had a long list of recurring characters that we will all miss.
The skits last night were, overall average at best .
-- The airplane skit was terrible.
Fox and Kristen Wiig as stewarddesses just didnt do it.
--The Russian Bride skit was good.
Will Forte , Bill Hader, and Fred Armison -
these 3 regulars together with Fox- this one was laughable.
--The SNL Digital Short
usually Andy Sambergs here, but not this time.
Will Forte is twisted,
Megan Fox purposes to him and alltho he's beeped out you can clearly see him respond " No F'ng Way "
This guy is twisted !
-- I dont know how that guy Keenan whats his name( the black chubby fella ) still has a job after all these years ? ?
I guess Lorne Michaels likes this guy. 99 % of this guys stuff is, well, just awful.
-- Weekend Update was the usual with Seth Meyers ( the new head writer since Tina Fey departed )
--The Biker Chit Chat skit
the very first skit of this young girls SNL career,
and she drops an F Bomb in this skit.
The entire skit was utilizing the word " fricking "
and i mean everything was fricking this and fricking that and the mighty F Word busted thru there live on TV. We are afterall, creatures of habit guess she couldnt help herself.
wonder if she'll get fired. or fined.
-- The Transformers sketch was okay strictly for the fact that brian austin green makes a cameo as one of the transformers.
U2 played the usual 2 and 1/2 songs live as they closed out the show as usual.
Breathe & Moment Of Surrender from No Line On The Horizon, and the show ccredits went up and the show siigned off with Bono swinging from his glow in the dark steering wheel microphone for Achtung Babys Ultraviolet .That was pretty awesome .
thoughts ?

"i forgot about my SNL season premiere mantra:'Wow, they had all summer and this was the best they could come up with?'"
and i agree...weekend update, which is usually the bright spot in the show, wasn't great...but that the way the show has been for a very long time now...some shows are great but most are stinkers
and that chick will go down in snl history for saying fuck for only the second time in the shows history nd it was her very first appearance...granted, it was totally understandable...there is no way in my first skit ever and i had to say friggin' constantly that i wouldn't slip up and say fucking'
30 years??????
I cant believe this show is still on.....seriously....
The original crew, and first 1-3 years were classic........It has been crap ever since....
I have watched MAYBE 40 minutes of SNL in the last 25 years.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
can you refresh my mind
who was the first to drop the F bomb again ?
That it ain't no sin to be glad you're alive

charlie rocket in 1981 i think...i think paul schaffer did once too
The word "fuck" has been said several times live on the air: during a sketch in 1980, Paul Shaffer said "fuckin'" instead of "floggin'"; in 1981, Charles Rocket, said "I'd like to know who the fuck did it" during a "Who Shot JR?" parody and on the same night Prince sang the lyric "Fightin' war is such a fuckin' bore"; in 1990, singer Morris Day of The Time said "Where the fuck this chicken come from?" and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith sang "feedin' that fuckin' monkey on my back" during their performances; in 1994, Michael Stipe of R.E.M. sang "Don't fuck with me" and Adam Horovitz of Beastie Boys sang "So won't you fuckin' listen" in their performances and in 1997, Norm MacDonald accidentally said, "The fuck was that?" after flubbing a line during "Weekend Update".

This opening episode didn't do it for me.
The Thursday Update Show, however, was really funny.
for the least they could possibly do
Yeah, Eddie Murphy sucked.
The Dana Carvey-Phil Hartman-Mike Myers-Jon Lovitz era sucked.
The Chris Farley-David Spade-Rob Schnieder-Adam Sandler era sucked.
Will Ferrell sucked.
SNL has always gone through lulls, but to act like it's sucked since Chevy Chase left is silly. In fact, I'd say some of the eras mentioned above were actually better than the original era.
Like I mentioned earlier, SNL had a good year last year ... it milked the election for a lot of funny bits.
for the least they could possibly do
Dana Carvey
Mike Myers
Lon Lovitz....
I never found any of these goofballs funny....Just My opinion....
Will Ferrell is nothing but a fucking fool....I find nothing...and I mean NOTHING he does/did funny......Actually he is the most Unfunny guy on the planet....
Adam Sandler is #2 in the most Non-Funny guy on the planet.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
to be funny, but it just isn't no matter how hard they try.
it will never get any better than this

Last season was pretty funny. I loved Bill Hader when he did that Dateline guy. I'm still quoting that one! I think Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader & Fred Armisen are all hilarious! I like Andy Samberg, I wait on him regularly, so I'm biased there, haha! Last season when Anne Hathaway was on was probably one of my favorite episodes in years and anytime Justin Timberlake comes on it's a special treat. Oh and when Forte & Wiig do that skit where they are the office geeks going out for a drink after work, love it! Or Wiig doing Suze Orman?? "Where the F did you get that jacket?!"
I cannot stand Keenan! I FF through all his skits. He's terrible, blech!

"I play good, hard-nosed basketball.
Things happen in the game. Nothing you
can do. I don't go and say,
"I'm gonna beat this guy up."
A couple of quick observations: Don Pardo is back!?!!!! That is awesome. Don't ever retire, Don!
I now know why Kristen Wiig won't do Weekend Update with Seth. Because if she did, she wouldn't be able to do funny bits like that tourist character. She is tremendously funny and the new star of the show.
Megan Fox is ridiculously pretty. I didn't like how she introduced U2 and they had already begun to start the song while she was talking.
Any chance of Kataan reprising Mango for Lady Gaga next week?
And how can anyone claim the last 30 years weren't good? April of 1994 was the Best Episode Ever with Emilio Estevez and Pearl Jam. Solid episode. Plus Farley and Swayze was around that time as well. Also, did Vedder say during Not for you "Never once for you, fuck you, this is not for you?" Sounded like it back then but just going on memory. It was either that or "for you" but can't remember.
Will Ferrell may be the most overrated funnyman on the planet, but if you don't think the Chris Farley-Patrick Swayze-chippendale's skit is hilarious, there is something seriously wrong with you.
Chris Farley is the one guy on my list I could have excluded. The guy had his moments...
But after a while even he got old. Ya know what I mean???
The over-weight, clumsy, doofus, thing he had going.....Got old quick.
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
Well, it's quite an established archetype, going back to Abbott and Costello and undoubtedly even before that. But I take your meaning. There are only so many places that humor can go in the end.
Laurel/Hardy
Jerry/George(Seinfeld was a huge Abott/Costello fan)
But Farley/Spade just didnt do it for me....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

tommy boy is one of the funniest movies ever!
There were 2 shows back then that were different than ohter shows. It was something about the way the camera shot the scenes. One was SNL and the other was "All in the Family". I still can't describe the difference in them compared to other shows, but it was huge.
I can't belive KY got SNL before Detroit.
