the shades of a cloud

We explore the wilder garden next to the stream inside the bounds of your family’s place in the country and we find flowers whose petals are brightest of all and the smooth running rock strewn waters provide comfort with the green banked moss as the tricks of nature are want to do as we fall again in summer heat inflamed and trapped and the rain cools us once again.

Don’t cry. It’s just you and I, posing as a lonely cloud
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
