  • I can really only afford a copy of the cd I purchased from the the Ten Club and the Vinyl from the same. I am upset though. Why is it that by purchasing the C.D. from the ten club in advance I paid more and got less than I would have gotten if I had just gotten it from Target. I am really kind of upset. I simply figured that the band that fought Ticketmaster for a year or more on behalf of their fans would do more for their fans than they would for Target! It seems counterintuitive. I love Pearl Jam. Always have. But now every time I hear the album it makes me upset. I love the music, I just feel cheated. My friends think that I am ridiculous, but I don't expect anyone who loves PJ this much to understand. Am I wrong??? I need to be talked down.

    1 CD from TenClub
1 CD from Target (pre-order style, which was mailed out 2 days after the release date)

Will be buying it on vinyl, preferably from a local independent record store.

Let's not forget, FAN is short for "fanatic"!!

don't let it upset you. it's up to you how to react to this. it's my understanding that we'll get downloads from 10c eventually too. not sure what the holdup is.

    i don't it.

i understand getting the record and a cd version, but beyond that, it seems like a waste of money.

itunes and cd??? why not just rip from the cd? multiple cd's? makes no sense.

    whatever, it's your money.

here's a pretty simple explanation - i bought my first copy from 10c. no free downloads (yet). i believe 2 live bootlegs is a pretty good bargain for $11.98, so I went to Target to get another copy. This means I don't have to keep dragging the CD back and forth between house and car too. While I was there, the thought occurred to me that if I buy two more (to make three total), I could download two additional shows, and share the extra CD copy with friends and family to "spread the love". really, i would buy more to get the rest of the bootlegs. $6 a piece for live shows is a huge bargain IMO.

OK - now I am wondering about these downloads (since my CD is from 10c). What shows are you able to download? Does it tell you on the Target CD it's any of the 2009 shows from the tour? I agree that $6 each for two shows might make buying a Target disk worth it....

Or has 10c told us somewhere that the 10c version will come with downloads later?
Also - is there a difference in the vinyl between 10c and Target/Indie Stores?

I have one each CD and LP from 10c for obvious reasons but I'd pay $12 for two live shows and also get another Backspacer to give away if that is the deal....

    Thanks!

yeah, basically. 10c has alluded to the possibility that those who purchased from them will also get the download opportunity, but nothing concrete yet as far as I've seen.

there are about 8 shows (i think) from which to choose, none from '09 i don't believe. so theoretically, it would make sense to buy 4 if you wanted all those shows at $6 a pop.
  • Can someone post the 8 shows to choose from?

This is what the support team told me when I inquired about the 10C downloads:

    "Hello.

Thank you for your email. The Target version of the CD and the iTunes version
contain 2 free concert downloads chosen from a list of 11 PJ shows. Stay tuned
for details on free concert downloads from the vault through the Ten Club
    version of the CD.

    Best regards,
    n-CD Support Team"

I have only bought one, however i have not heard any as my 10Club version probably hasn't even broken into Canada yet. Sucks to read all the threads about Backspacer having only heard Got Some once on Conan and Fixer on the radio.

you do know you can download the full shows (including the covers) if you dig up that thread in the given to fly section.

    cd @ easy street
    3 LPs @ target
    rock band dlc

    5 copies for me.

I can honestly say that I have never heard of anyone actually stockpiling albums. Did I miss something? Are they suddenly going to run out? Do we need these to live? Are they going to suddenly disappear? Are they a better investment than gold? What the hell? Somebody explain this.
