Hey guys---
I'm writing an article for my school's newspaper about the death of the modern music industry. I'm going to mention about how bands are beginning to sell their albums through a specific reseller these days, and wanted to know if anyone remembers coming across a quote said by Eddie, probably around the time of the Avocado release, that explained the necessity of bands releasing their albums through a specific reseller. It was on here for a while and wanted to know if anyone had the exact quote. I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks.

what do people expect pearl jam to do about getting their album sold? sell it out of the trunks of the car after shows? only sell it at independent record stores or from their website?. enough with all this sell-out talk. technically pearl jam sold out in 1991 when they signed with sony/epic.
do you enjoy them making music? well if you would like them to continue doing it, they have got to make money. so people need to get over the target deal. it's not like it was friggin' walmart.

what I mean is that the dynamic of music distribution has changed so much since we started
mostly for the better as more people are exposed to many different types of music, and that's great
but that being said, its changed the way we distribute our music, that's for sure
