Alcohol Enforcement At Key Arena

What a joke....I was caught with some bacardi rum in my coke bottle during Ben Harpers set the second night...The alcohol enforcement kicked me and my buddy out...My buddy had one little drink out of the bottle...I was the one with the bottle....Me and my buddy was fifth row Mike's side...Anyways, they didn't handle the situation well at all..I asked why both of was being kicked out?...The lady accused us of passing the bottle back and fourth several times....I wasn't even doing anything besides sitting in my seat during the Harper set...It wasn't like I was causing a scence...Also, they took our info off our drivers licenses and put it on a notepad...I asked them why they needed this...They would not answer me....Also, they took our tickets..Which didn't make sense..You can't get back in the show once you leave...Plus, they know what seats we were in....
I have been calling Key Arena everyday to try and find out why they took all my info off the drivers licenses..Of course just getting the run around...But, I will keep on calling until I find out the reason why..When I called Wed the lady I talked to on the phone..She told me several people have called about this same thing...Wanting their money back etc...
To sum everything up...Was I wrong to have the bacardi in the coke...Yes, I was guilty...Was it enough to kick me out of the show?..Maybe? I think a warning would have been the right thing to do...But, my buddy being kicked out was a joke..
Plus, at least the alcohol enforcement should answer my questions...Especially when I ask why they need all the info off my drivers licenses....
I will never go back to Key Arena to see pearl jam or any event in fact....I don't care if pearl jam plays 10 shows in row free there...I am not going..

No sympathy here, bro. Rules are rules. And they're there for everyone. I've been to too many PJ shows with drunk and barfing meatheads around me to feel any sympathy. Sorry. You missed an incredible show.
So, what did the alcohol enforcement team do when Ed passed the bottle of wine down into crowd?...Gee they must have had their head turned at this point....What is good for the goose is good for the gander....So, if the fans drank wine from the bottle Ed passed out..Aren't they as much guilty as me?..No alcohol allowed in the pit..That should go for everyone...
Yeah I see you guys just jumping with your goody tissue ways on that question/comment..
Funny now how all you guys who posted...Have no comments on this...
I doubt it.....
but that's another issue altogether
as a non-smoker, nothing grosses me out more than the second hand smoke
aren't you 7 feet tall?
Gee enforcement something that is legal to do in the U.S.A..But, let the people who are doing something that is really illegal get away with it...
Where's the eyeroll emoticon?
Seriously, using your logic, everytime Ed or Boom lights up on stage, everyone in the arena should do the same.
Ed isn't a ticket holder. The wine is part of the show and you're not going to get plastered off a sip -- nor is there much of chance that you're going to spill it on the seats or your neighbor.
Listen, I didn't like the no beer in the arena rule either, but I realized why it was there and obeyed it for the sake and safety of the other fans. Not a big sympathizer for people who didn't think it applied to them.
Sigh.
I mean, if security is going to be lax enough to let the shit in, than people shouldn't get thrown out on first offense.
now, if you were rude and unruly during the "apprehension", perhaps you deserved to get booted, not sure if we're getting the whole story here.

Could you buy a beer there this year??? You could not in 00 an 02 and I could never figure out if the the crowds are more passive there because they have seen PJ over the years often. Or, because if you want to let loose and have some drinks it was problematic doing so.
The no alcohol rules were odd for a concert. Were these rules in effect when the Sonics were playing there? It's not like the rules effect me that much, I wait until after the show to get my drink on, but I can see where it sucked for others. Overzealous security can be just as distracting as a disrespectful fan, it would be nice if we both could come to some kind of balance and everyone enjoys their job, fans rocking out and security providing a safe environment.
smoke rises.......hello???!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Yeah, the event staff sucks at The Key. I was tapped on the shoulder to scoot in the row more. I pretty much just brushed them off.

The security was pissing me off too me and my friend went into the aisle with a few other people because we were having a hard time seeing with all the tall people in front of us, even though i'm pretty tall.
The security kept bitching at us for it so after doing it a couple times we just went back to our seats so we could enjoy the show without being interrupted.

Umm yeah, what planet do you live on?
Let's see 16,000 people pay to see EV and PJ play I think he does get a little special nod.
You were 5 rows back why did you need the alcohol?
Grow up.
And I am happy you won't be going to anymore shows I can't stand drunk fools like you.
Hi,
Why does anyone need to drink for?...Why did the Key Arena sale alohocol outside the pit area....Doesn't matter how many rows I was back....
Ed and the band I am sure pays a fine for drinking on stage and smoking..But, still the fans that drink wine in the crowd....Should be kicked out..If rules are rules?
I wasn't drunk...You just assume I was since I was. drinking..So, everyone that purchased alocohol outside the pit venue was drunk right?....But, people like are the ones that just know everything...Or at least you think you do...Without even being there or knowing all the facts..
Yes, you are right.
You break the rules you will lose.
Don't mess with the law.
YOU are a 33yr. old grown man...right???
YOU got busted with liqour.....
You got tossed out....
AND YOU DESERVED TO BE TOSSED OUT!!!!!
End of fucking story....
Everyone that drank from Ed's bottle should be tossed out too????
Give me a fucking break....
You are going to keep calling the Arena to find out why they took your license?????
Give me a fucking break.......
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
Hey Speedy,
Yeah, it was probably right for me to kicked out...But, no need to copy all my information from my licenses without explaining why they needed the info...If you get kicked out of a show?...Do they really need my drivers license number and my address?...So, I don't have to right to know why they took my drivers licenses info?..
It is prohibited on the campus to consume, or to possess liquor, as defined in SMC Section 12A.24.010 C, or other applicable law, except as authorized by a Seattle Center License or other agreement and a Permit issued by the Washington State Liquor Control Board or its successor.
16. Violations of These Rules or of other Applicable Law.
A violation of these rules or of other applicable laws may, in addition to any applicable civil or criminal penalties, result in the revocation of a person’s permission to remain on the Seattle Center campus.
Here you go, break their laws and they have the right to ask you to leave.
This isn't elementary school were the teacher gives you 3 warnings.
Oh and I so believe you weren't drunk or on your way after smuggling rum into the venue.
