let's speculate re: the next round of tour dates

when do you think they'll be announced?
where do you think the shows will be?
how many?
yes, speculation can be a lot like masturbation....but aren't both fun?
hawaii in december seems like the obvious pick. 2-3 dates? but that's not a tour.
i'm curious to see if they'll do something in january or february. wonder where they would go. south america? southern us? i would imagine they'd save europe for late spring or summer and the us east coast for later in the summer.

Sammi: Wanna just break up?
Not so much in March, April and May.
for the least they could possibly do
i imagine you are part of a small minority in the South, being a fan of good music and all. Of course, I'm stereotyping. Just curious though, do you have most of your real teeth?
kelly curtis said they will be. i don't have the quote handy.
c'mon, they just put out a record and have a 20th anniversary coming up next year. they'll be playing shows.
Ed was just talking out his ass, apparently. Kelly Curtis confirmed they are in the process of booking a 2010 tour.

I'm not part of a "small minority" of people who like good music, TX has a HUGE music scene and some awesome local bands, yes you're stereotyping, yes I have my teeth and yes you're a fucking idiot...hows that?
lol, somebody takes himself a little too serioiusly. i've spent plenty of time in texas. how many great rock bands have hailed from the lone star state? it's a backwards shithole of a place for the most part. austin is the only city i would hope to save if a nuke were to drop. but really, don't be so sensitive.
Dude, c'mon man. You're just yanking people's chains now. There's really no call for it.

i like having fun with texans though. their over-inflated sense of state pride makes it very easy to get them to a boiling point. and it's friday night, i'm not looking for a challenge or anything.
I guess. I don't see the point, really. Seems like it screws with what could be a decent vibe on this board.

you're right, i'll leave it alone. going to catch some z's.
cowboy roy - i was just messin'. texas has a lot going for it. hook 'em horns.
If he's an Aggie, then you've really pissed him off.

I'm not even originally from TX and I don't get into that whole TX pride shit, but I take offense to this idea that some people have on this board that everyone from TX is some banjo playing hillbilly with no sense. Have you ever been to Dallas for example? Did you realize that it's one of the biggest cities in the country, that it has more corporate offices housed here than any other city in the country, does more business than 95% of the rest of the country, that the recession hasn't had any impact here at all because of all the business and jobs, that it has some of the best schools in the country, and most importantly that there are some really great people here?
All I posted was that I want Pearl Jam to play the south so that the fans here can see their favorite band and you start in with insulting the place I live and stereotyping an entire portion of the country. Quit being a small minded stereotyping idiot, and educate yourself...actually I'll start your education and help you out. Here are but a small # of artists from the lone star state:
Roy Orbison
Buddy Holly
Janis Joplin
ZZ Top
At the Drive In
Sparta
Mars Volta
Trail of the Dead
Drowning Pool
Kings X
The Hunger
Ripper
Toadies
Polyphonic Spree
Bowling for Soup
Freddie Fender
Spoon
Explosions in the Sky
The Black Angels
Butthole Surfers
Blue October
Tripping Daisy
*shall I go on? I haven't even talked about rap, country, jazz or blues yet
for the least they could possibly do
lol was having a hard time remembering them all
Hell yeah!
i may be a small minded idiot....fair enough. but really, you shouldn't let small minded idiots get you so worked up. life is too short. you put a lot of effort into that one post with all the musicians...and for what? and as was pointed out, you missed arguably the best of the bunch with SRV.
anger will eat you up inside - don't let it win.
Nicely put. That's a great analogy. I love Texas and have always lived here. I think the difference is I can actually visit and enjoy other cities and states without demeaning them or speaking in tired stereotypes.
Well, I'd like to write more, but I have a cattle drive in the morning. Peace
still no apology? sounds about right...
if an apology is important to you, then i'm sorry. it really was just a good natured jab. remember, most comedy is born from stereotypes and generalizations. i really don't think all texans are backwards, toothless redneck cattle farmers.
