The Serpent

I wash my hands of all of this
and find my way amongst the red.
The serpent in the entry way
has drawn me out toward the dead.

Accept it when I say your name.
I’ve seen the truth beyond your eyes,
and let it seep inside of me.
I pray someday I’ll cross that line.

With nothing left, I lose control.
I leave out all I was before.
I sit in silence , sit in peace.
I trace your shadow on the floor.

With one last glance I feel it all.
I know that I won’t find a way.
To cast aside the demons left.
There’s so much I will never say.

Take me with you when you go,
and take a hold so I can rest.
I leave the passing of the tides,
content that I have nothing left.

If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this
