    We went to a close-by nature reserve today and I saw my first ever live owl. It was a Barred Owl and it looked gorgeous. I am quite new to this hobby of birding, but oh my, do I enjoy it! Bald Eagles are still on my bucket list, but I know they are around and one day, i will be in the right spot at the right time. Nature rocks!

    Leeze, I'm not a birder formally but I do see a lot of birds in our area. We have many barred owls that live in our parks and fly around the neighbourhood, and other owl species, too. Of the flying creatures, owls and bats are my favourites.

    I love them all :smiley: But yes, owls, eagles and bats are quite amazing creatures. That is so cool that you have them in your area! It is such a calming hobby for me. I am usually chained to my desk, the birds make it easier to be there, I am a backyard birder too. And I love our little adventures when we venture into the parks and surrounding areas with our "bird goggles" on!
